Michael in the Fatherland

Michael in the Fatherland. Thursday, April 13, 2006. A canal circles the city and was built to get supplies and trade form the city to the sea. There are very cool bridges and fortifications across each bridge as was needed in the days of conquest. The art museums, city hall, cathedral.all are beautiful I went in February, but hear that the summer is absolutely beautiful. A little crowded, but really nice. Sounds like a good trip for late summer. Enjoy the pictures! Windmills In Germany too! Posted by Mi...

Michael in the Fatherland: So, you've always wanted a Mercedes ???

http://michaelfatherland.blogspot.com/2006/04/so-youve-always-wanted-mercedes.html

Michael in the Fatherland. Thursday, April 13, 2006. So, you've always wanted a Mercedes? I remember growing up in S. FL and during the winter months, all you saw for cars were Porches, Rolls Royce, and Mercedes. The rich people's cars.right? Well, I don't want to blow your bubble, but I now introduce you to the Mercedes "Smart" car. In Germany, space is at a premium. There are never enough parking spots and most of them are for very small cars. Don't bring your Ford explorer over here!

http://michaelfatherland.blogspot.com/2006/04/windmills-in-germany-too.html

Michael in the Fatherland. Thursday, April 13, 2006. Windmills In Germany too! This winter most of Europe felt the squeeze when the Ukraine's cut the supply of natural gas. It was a cold, snowy winter! Well, fortunately Germans do believe in alternate power sources, one of which is the windmill! Posted by Michael in the Fatherland @ 11:59 AM. Comments: Post a Comment. Michael in the Fatherland. Tuesday, March 07, 2006. Why do they last so long? Did you ever wonder why buildings in Germany and for that matter, most of Europe, last so long? Houses in my neighborhood are on an average 2 - 3 hundred years old. Many are several hundred years old. Then you look at the castles and churches and government buildings.many where built as far back as the Roman times.how can that be you ask? The answer is.THEY BUILD THEM TO LAST! First, all the outside AND. Picture is plumbing/ele...

Michael in the Fatherland: Garmisch, Germany

http://michaelfatherland.blogspot.com/2006/02/garmisch-germany.html

Michael in the Fatherland. Tuesday, February 21, 2006. Welcome to Garmisch, Germany. Located about an hour drive south of Munich (Munchen) are the beautiful Bavarian Mountains. The first picture was taken right outside my hotel and there is a 2,800 meter ( 9000 ft) mountain! There is excellent skiing, snowboarding, and yes, sledding! At night, there are a variety of things to do. I chose the "Richard Strauss Institut" ( www.richard-strauss-institut.de. Posted by Michael in the Fatherland @ 3:41 AM.
