http://jamiemurrayclimbing.blogspot.com/2010/02/change-for-blog-18th-jan-lower-nevis.html
Jamie Murray, Climbing. Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Change for the blog. 18th Jan Lower Nevis. I need an ongoing blog of all activities for uni course work so now for the next little while its not just climbing its whatever we happen to get up to. 18th Jan, after the huge cold spell came a huge thaw which meant the lower nevis was pumping so was finally worth the effort of going down it in a boat to see what it was like! I headed out with G and we both stood at the lower falls and chickened out.

Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey: October 2009
http://alpinedreamer.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey. Wednesday, 28 October 2009. I have foregone a holiday all summer on the basis that work has been very busy and the conditions in Font are better towards autumn. I was desperate for some time off, time away from the office and some long stints of fresh air. I was also looking forward (with some trepidation, I must admit) to showing Tamsyn and Dina the joys of la foret domeniale de Fontainebleau and introducing them to real outdoor bouldering. Dina and Tamsyn were new to the...

Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey: July 2009
http://alpinedreamer.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey. Tuesday, 21 July 2009. The weekend before last we had a fabulous day in Glen Coe. Diff was filming and I tagged along to carry bags, with the promise of a day's climbing in Glen Nevis on the Sunday. How often do you see the whole of Scotland spread out before you, tops as far as the eye can see, the sea in one direction and Rannoch Moor in the other. Even the Ben was cloud free. Incredible. It seems like an age since Caroline and I hopped it down to Kyloe Out for some boul...

Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey: November 2009
http://alpinedreamer.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey. Tuesday, 10 November 2009. Keep Calm and Carry On. This website came to me, in relation to work, from a friend:. Keep Calm and Carry On: http:/ www.keepcalmandcarryon.com. After the last week or so of office life, it seems like an appropriate thing to remember, but I also wondered whether the phrase applies quite nicely to climbing. But also on that website I found this:. 8216;There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a cup of tea. ’. True to ...

Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey: Starting Again
http://alpinedreamer.blogspot.com/2010/07/starting-again.html
Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey. Wednesday, 21 July 2010. It seems like a long time since I've been out bouldering. In fact, I know how long it is. My bouldering mat was still in it's shrink-wrapping from my last trip to Font in September last year. So much has happened since then. Is the default position to climb without permission and deal with it if a problem arises, or is one supposed to not climb because one has not obtained permission? Anyway, I opted for the former. I was the only one bouldering am...

Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey: 9 Lives
http://alpinedreamer.blogspot.com/2010/06/9-lives.html
Alpine Dreams of a Desk Monkey. Friday, 25 June 2010. I couldn't leave this little BBC news item unshared. It gave me an especially nice Friday feeling. If you were a cat, how bad would it be to have no back feet? Lucky black cat Oscar could tell you; I'm sure he'd tell you how great it is to have them back too.
