My Midlife Bike Crisis: A New Gear
http://midlifebikecrisis.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-gear.html
My Midlife Bike Crisis. Racing and coaching while rounding the mid-forty mark in life. Tuesday, April 06, 2010. I am now finishing up my second build phase and beginning the taper to my first seasonal peak. Something is fundamentally different with my engine. My power is up dramatically and no I am not doping. During my recent race simulations I sustained FTP for nearly two hours. Well, that means it is time for testing but I haven't found a convenient moment yet for this. What is different this year?

Amazing Grace: September 2008
http://sodzo.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 27, 2008. I am presently sitting in a hotel room in Chongqing China. When in the USA, I think of China as a sort of rising superpower bent on world domination. When I am here, another impression sets in that is much more complex. . 160;We would ventilate in an election and throw the bums out. They do not have that option. . 160;Do you realize that God made the billion who live here and loves them as much as he loves the rest of his creation? Posted by Darrell Anderson.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Are we to sin. Because we are not under law but under grace? Do you not know that if you present yourselves. To anyone as obedient slaves,. You are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? Thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the. Standard of teaching to which you were committed,. Having been set free from sin,. Have become slaves of righteousness.
Amazing Grace: Reflections on Ezekiel
http://sodzo.blogspot.com/2008/10/reflections-on-ezekiel.html
Saturday, October 4, 2008. Reading the prophets stirs my heart immensely. The character of God's heart is so transcendent throughout the scriptures and it gives me a more generous understanding of him. It is in this context that God appears to Ezekiel:. In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. On the fifth of the month—it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin- 3. And say: 'O...

Wednesday, July 30, 2008. A Theology of Bike Racing. All of these ruminations on Joshua and the Israelites have led me to make an attempt at a theology of bike racing. For those of you who stop by this blog who are in the bike racing community, you will probably think I am nuts. If you are Christian, you may also think I am nuts. If you are a Christian athlete who longs to compete I think you may find these thoughts interesting. Like Father Like Son. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
A Ten on Two Wheels: Working the Night Away

A Ten on Two Wheels. Chris Aten's Life of Cycling. Saturday, July 31, 2010. Working the Night Away. I'm sitting at work right now staring at monitors and computer screens. You can only watch cycling.tv clips so much in the early am hours before your vision starts to blur and your eyes look increasingly blood shot in the mirror. That's not to say that I'm not working hard, I just get my tasks done and then work on mindlessness (while paying attention to my patients of course). August 7, 2010 at 2:23 PM.

Now that I have more time on my hands, it seems more appropriate to be checking out all of the blogs and writing a bit myself. My Midlife Bike Crisis
My Midlife Bike Crisis. Racing and coaching while rounding the mid-forty mark in life. Sunday, May 16, 2010. AZ State Road Race Championship. The good thing in all this was the race was delayed a half-hour for some reason and this actually worked to my benefit with tall the chaos circulating. Meanwhile, I ride by the Marcucci's and they are wired tight and organized to the hilt. How do they do that? Was anyone going to sit idly by in the first 7 miles on one of the few flat stretches? I am now finishing ...

Taking a drive through amish country. We’ve lived here in Wisconsin for almost 8 years and I still love driving through Amish country. We had snow earlier in the week and I’m wondering if spring plans to even show it’s face. I’m itching to open my windows and doors, I can’t wait to get outside and get the yard looking nice and colorful again. It’s been a long winter and I’m so ready to say goodbye to it. .
