Fall blooms | How does my garden grow?

https://midwestgardens.wordpress.com/2009/11/07/fall-blooms

How does my garden grow? A glimpse into the life of a Missouri gardener. It’s early November and there’s barely any leaves left on my trees. I’m using most of them for mulch in areas where I’d like to plant something new next spring. Fallen leaves in backyard. Roses in bloom in November. Despite the fallen leaves and the dates on the calendar, the weather feels more like spring than summer. And my roses are still in bloom because of it. Fall color on oakleaf hydrangea. Lasagna gardening | How does my garden grow?

https://midwestgardens.wordpress.com/2009/10/08/lasagna-gardening

How does my garden grow? A glimpse into the life of a Missouri gardener. Getting ready for spring planting means I need to build a lasagna garden. Around the tree in our cul-de-sac. I became a huge fan of the lasagna gardening method after reading a book by Patricia Lanza. So, I’m hoping to build a new bed in the cul-de-sac so it helps beautify the neighborhood. If I can find some decent prices on dirt, I’ll have a nursery drop a load in the circle. On October 8, 2009 at 11:01 pm Leave a Comment. You are...

I’ve become the editor for the Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners. The challenge for now is carving out enough time to get it done by the first of each month, or thereabouts. So far so good, but I might have more trouble in the wintertime when there’s not as much gardening to be done. You are commen...

Putting the garden to bed | How does my garden grow?

https://midwestgardens.wordpress.com/2009/12/07/putting-the-garden-to-bed

How does my garden grow? A glimpse into the life of a Missouri gardener. Putting the garden to bed. It’s December and there’s snow in the weather forecast this week, so it’s probably time to put aside the garden dreams for the year and start to focus on next season. Maybe I’ll come back with some great ideas after visiting Thailand in January. (Go to my personal blog. For now, I’ll stick to my mulching plans and start thinking about a vegetable garden in spring.
