Midwestern Skies and west coast dreams....

Midwestern Skies and west coast dreams. Let's Call This the Comeback. Of course none of this is remotely true, but is sure sounds a lot cooler than I was just busy. As this semester comes to an abrubt end I decided it was time to return to my post as everyone's favorite resident blogger/magician/GQ Model. This week my music pick is The Hold Steady's Boys and Girls in America Click Here For Album Review. Posted by Shawn Brouwer at 2:57 PM. Reflections into a semester that has gone with the wind. Midwestern Skies and west coast dreams. Margaritas, Ambassador's, and Marketing Oh My! Have you ever been in the position to meet one of the most influential people in the world and made a complete ass out of yourself (sort of like when Forrest Gump pulled down his pants in front of Nixon to show he had been shot in the butt.) Because I have. Here is the set-up:. Walk into their friend's home acting like he owned the place. Going out for margarita's tonight for a farewell party for one my fellow interns&...

Midwestern Skies and west coast dreams. My Return to the Mundane Midwest. Sorry to start this post on a sour note. In other news, I have a new job - I am now a Barista at the Artisan Cafe, a localy owned coffee house here in Columbia. The Artisan. So far, this seems to be the best college job I've had yet. I get to listen to good music, make good coffee and meet a lot of indie girls (which I've always had a soft spot for). Here is an update on some music to check out:. Midwestern Skies and west coast dreams. Shawn Lost in America: A Tribute to Where's Waldo. The drive from Washington D.C. to my apartment in Columbia, MO is approx: 990 miles which also appox: takes 16 to 17 hours based on speed, bathroom breaks, food breaks and how many times I decide to stop and observe to beautiful American landscape. The tow-truck guy was named Eric. He had the largest Adam’s apple I had ever seen. JB offered to give me a ride to find a hotel in his burnt orange Honda Element. Do...

Monday, May 29, 2006. Not quite London, but fab nonetheless! I figure I had better post something about my first week, before I forget it all. So I think I'm ready for this week. I will actually be running the desk for the Entertainment section. That means whatever you see online is me. Any changes made between 9am and 1pm ET (7am-11am CST) are all mine! PS Jenn, I don't think I caught what your internship is yet! Posted by TraciMac at 11:30 PM. Posted by Matt Sokoloff at 7:18 AM. Thursday, May 25, 2006.

Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Swimming in D.C. People take themselves seriously in the burbs. It is very stuffy in the suburbs I must say. People are very concerned about maintaining an existence that is quite and calm. So any outsider is not welcome, especially when they are driving a beat up Honda Civic with a Missouri license plate and blastng Nelly. Country Gramma baby! Posted by Shawn Brouwer at 5:08 AM. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. No, I didn't meet any ambassadors. But I did take my picture with THE Stanley Cup (or one of the 3 that they have out there) last weekend. If I ever get it developed, I'll post it. But in the meantime, I'd love to call your attention to this:. Anderson Cooper, the man with really white hair! And, I also bring it to your attention because Mizzou Con-Virgins did it first. CNN is a bunch of copy-cats! Posted by Stefanie Z at 2:08 PM. Margaritas, Ambassador's, and Marketing Oh My!
