Local DNS on MacOSX. May 25, 2013. So I’ve set up a vpn and thrown maradns into the mix. Now I can query machines by name, and they’ll just resolve, instead of remembering IP Addresses. Now I can ping mikeworkpc.vpn and it will resolve. Awesome. On Windows, it’s relatively straight forward, right click on your TAP virtual ethernet device, go to domains, add new DNS server. All done.
