Mike's Everest Trek WebLog. Friday, May 29, 2009. Today was a great day. Started a little slow, but at 10am Pemba and I went shopping in Thamel, a market district of Kathmandu. Picked up some souvenirs, got a massage with Grant, took Pemba out for lunch. Great day. There's such energy and sensory overload here. sights, smells, sounds. Everything is crowded, every little piece of space is used. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Hoping a google search on "lost camera Lukla Nepal" will bring up this blog post. Our f...

Mike's Everest Trek WebLog: Day 6 - Kathmandu, May 9th

http://www.mikeleverest.blogspot.com/2009/05/day-6-kathmandu-may-9th.html

Mike's Everest Trek WebLog. Saturday, May 9, 2009. Day 6 - Kathmandu, May 9th. Unfortunately, this internet cafe is unable to load my pictures, so I'll just have to be descriptive in my writing. Oh, and I'm typing on a keyboard with only half the letters actually discernible, so that's a challenge too. but oh well. I'm in Kathmandu! The city is very similar to what I experienced in India. We are sightseeing tomorrow and then head to Lukla to begin the trek the day after! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Regardless they're awesome. sounds like you're already having a great adventure. turn the camera around once in a while and show us around . . .:) thanks for keeping in touch. i'm insanely jealous (even of 99 degrees). take care. Mike's Everest Trek WebLog: Day ?

http://www.mikeleverest.blogspot.com/2009/05/day.html

Mike's Everest Trek WebLog. Monday, May 25, 2009. Made it back to Namache after 8 hrs of hiking today. will post more soon. cold fingers and expensive internet here. May 25, 2009 at 5:56 AM. Ugh, not sure if my comment is going to post, but I can't believe how spectacular that scene is. I imagine the camera can't do it justice. You are blessed! I love that you're smiling the whole time. Like a little kid who just saw his presents under the tree on Christmas. May 25, 2009 at 1:34 PM. I'm jealous of you!

Before the court | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2011/09/01/777

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. The jury is out and my judgement carried with them. I cannot go back the way I came. Will I be accompanied or escorted to the door? Behind both options of enlaced arms writhes uncertainty. The Judge awaits, too, the decision on His jester. He has seen me before His court in many capacities. Today, as lowly as a humbled man can fall. I am assured that Justice will be served. My days have taught me little of Justice. Reverend Bil...

On the East bank | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2011/07/19/on-the-east-bank

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. On the East bank. She sat on the East bank of the river that normally brought solace. The brackish estuary seemed to recognize her sorrows. Swollen as if to rise up to meet and console her. Waves lapped gently against a winded pier trying to rock the babe. As consolation evaded the silent river it swelled more with her tears. The sweet waters being overwhelmed with the saline sadness. So the river whispered to the sky and the c...

Shell of life | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2011/07/29/shell-of-life

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. My grandmother used to sprinkle egg shells in her garden. Composting in her own way. Giving back to her little patch. Today I feel broken. Shattered and questioning myself. Decartian decomposition of my own shell. Behind the shroud of the mirror. In my brokenness waits one solitary hope. That I may fertilize the beautiful garden around me, too. 4 Responses to “Shell of life”. 07/29/2011 at 3:43 pm. 07/30/2011 at 11:28 am. Jerem...

Lost | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2012/01/10/lost

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. I hope the road is easier for you down your path. You forked off of mine suddenly much to my surprise. Now I am left to wonder whether there are flowers or pitfalls before us. I used to run ahead to make sure it was safe. Now I can only hope, as I pass meadows, that you too find your way there too. I am not lost, nor far away, but under the same moon. Even when inclement weather blocks the silver orb. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Winter flowers | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/winter-flowers

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. Remember when I first picked you up. We exchanged stories, laughs and many drinks to sup. We were on this this ride with the wind flowing through our hair. As though we were two kids in a convertible, life on pause, unaware. And that’s how it stayed for months, maybe years. Life was full of anecdotes and nuances cheered over beers. I brought you flowers to make you remember me in my absence. That was many yesterdays ago. You ar...

Clinging to the pain | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2012/01/17/clinging-to-the-pain

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. Clinging to the pain. Not a moment passes that I am not reminded of you. A news story or a benign song on the radio. Make me recall our many good times. Each time the stitches of my severed heart are torn out. Causing your absence to be newly relived. I am told there will be a time when that won’t happen. That sanity is far away and unwanted. This pain is the last that remains of you in my life. My body is rejecting your loss.

Patience | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2011/05/16/patience

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. Lie patiently little bean. The Master will come for you. When it is time, He will come. For you to fulfill your purpose. Lie patiently and save your strength. Amass the knowledge you will need for your journey. Learn the skills you will be asked to perform. Repeat them in your pod. Your time will come. Lie patiently for winters always pass. Spring is immanent just as they were for other sprouts. Lie patient, now, little bean.

free fall | verba volant scripta manent

https://kondratas.wordpress.com/2012/01/19/free-fall

Verba volant scripta manent. A poetry blog: the written word will survive us. I was pushed out. The safety denied hope. Suspended like a particle in a bog. Here I fall slowly towards my fate. To rest among the other debris. Or am I frog feces. Either way, I will be indistinguishable. Forced out to lay among the mire. When I come to, it will feel like terminal velocity stopped. By jagged rocks or perhaps a metal rod. Until then I fly alone in free fall. Looking at my unfortunate fate. Rope, Sex and Earth.
