Lunch with the Berbers | Living in Portugal

https://millerfamilygroup.wordpress.com/2013/02/01/lunch-with-the-berbers

8220;Want to see how carpets are made? Horace Greeley said it……. →. Lunch with the Berbers. February 1, 2013. Without a doubt, our greatest single adventure in Marrakech was our lunch in a Berber village in the Atlas Mountains. Allie’s boyfriend, Sean, had discussed with our guide the possibility of an authentic village lunch rather than the lunch we were thinking of having at Richard Branson’s resort. Luxury or a gamble? How was this food stored, washed, prepared? We thanked our hosts, took pictures in ...

The 7 Table Restaurant | Living in Portugal

https://millerfamilygroup.wordpress.com/2013/05/25/the-7-table-restaurant

It’s the Economy, stupid……………. 3 Coins in a Fountain →. The 7 Table Restaurant. May 25, 2013. Rudolfo is the second (maybe third? Truly one of the highlights of Europe, the small family owned and operated restaurants are everywhere. The experience is unique. We find ourselves using the term as a classification when we feel like something small, relaxing and friendly, as in “let’s hit a 7 table place tonight”. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Porto | Living in Portugal

https://millerfamilygroup.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/porto

A Whole ‘Nother World. A Seat at the Table →. April 17, 2013. We arrived for a tour, were the only ones there, and set out with our guide to see the winery, the extensive park-like grounds and to the tasting room, where she essentially dropped a few bottles on the table and left us alone on the veranda with some bread and cheese. That works! 2 thoughts on “ Porto. April 17, 2013 at 6:59 pm. Can’t wait to see you intwo short week! We so look forward to our visit. April 18, 2013 at 2:37 pm.

Food Orgy | Living in Portugal

https://millerfamilygroup.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/food-orgy

You Can See Heaven From Here →. March 20, 2013. Barcelona was an eating town! We loved the food and the variety. From the old traditional Gothic Quarter restaurant of Los Caracoles that I first ate in 35 years ago to the Tapas tour one night, from the other Tapas restaurants to the Indonesian lunch and finally a Japanese lunch on our final day when we were completely “tapa’d out”. We enjoyed it so much that we felt it deserved a post of its own! Just some of our memorable meals included……. Keep up the ad...

Couscous, Carpets and Chaos | Living in Portugal

https://millerfamilygroup.wordpress.com/2013/01/16/couscous-carpets-and-chaos

Our Spanish Don Juan and the Plaza de Toros. Follow the Lantern →. Couscous, Carpets and Chaos. January 16, 2013. Perhaps the highlight of our day in the mountains was the lunch we enjoyed on the roof of a private home in one of the villages, lovingly prepared and served by the family. Just us, the family, a modest house and some dogs, cats, goats…………….but this is a story for another post. 4 thoughts on “ Couscous, Carpets and Chaos. January 16, 2013 at 9:34 pm. Are you kidding me! They were just Cobras!

2017 Miller Family Year End Card

2017 - 50 years of Marriage - The Partnership Continues. The culmination of our 50th year of marriage was a delightful party at our home surrounded by our family and many of our friends from across the years ( and the country) including most of our original wedding party. We ate, danced and of course toasted the past and future with plenty of bubbly! Photo here). We are truly blessed in so many, many ways.

millerfamilygarden | One family's journey of urban community gardening

One family's journey of urban community gardening. July 19, 2011. We were finally enjoying the abundant fruits of our labor. This was the whole reason we started the garden. But in this stage what was missing was the excitement we had felt in beginning a new project, the anticipation and nervousness just after planting when we wondered what would happen, the flurry of activity in the first month, the celebration when harvesting the very first radishes. The culprit is found. June 28, 2011. It wasn’t...

Living in Portugal | Life in a Gap Year

Life in a Gap Year. And We Thought Moving to Portugal Was a Big Decision……. June 4, 2013. Pets are a funny thing. They truly become a part of your family. They provide companionship, love and humor, and never really ask for much in return. But they do require a fair amount of work and responsibility. Travel becomes a little tougher as does just being out for a few hours. Fido just can’t walk and feed himself. At least I got a great dinner in Coimbra, Portugal out of it. 3 Coins in a Fountain. Miller Family Happenings

Saturday, November 28, 2009. I am finally getting this blog updated. It has been very busy around here the last few months. We had Mission's Conference at church that was very good, but very busy too. Plus our Fall Program was going on for five Sunday's. TJ won the program in his Kindergarten Sunday School class! Tim and I won a gift card to go out to eat too! At TJ's school we had a Thanksgiving feast! It was very good! He is doing well in school and enjoys going. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
