The Butlers: Jerry Hughes
http://butlered.blogspot.com/2009/08/jerry-hughes.html
We are at two with Nature. Friday, August 14, 2009. Death is very difficult…any way you slice it. While I continue to feel extremely lucky to have gotten to know my grandfather so well, especially in the most recent 15 years of my “adult” life (and I use this term very loosely), I still cannot help but miss him. Is this selfish and making it all about me? I miss his thirst for knowledge. I miss his humility. I miss the way he could be gentle and yet firm at the same time. I miss his desire for fairness.

The Butlers: February 2008
http://butlered.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
We are at two with Nature. Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Coaching 6th and 7th grade girls basketball is proving to be both challenging and rewarding. In all honesty, most of the time I feel more like a wrangler than a coach. Does anyone remember that great Superbowl commercial from a few years ago that followed a bunch of cowboys moving a herd of kittens cross country? No idea.but I need to get over it.). Some of my favorite moments from the season thus far:. 3) During a voluntary post-practice group pra...

The Butlers: March 2008
http://butlered.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
We are at two with Nature. Friday, March 14, 2008. For better or for.can it get much worse? Lessons learned in the past week:. 1) That guy on those UPS commercials can draw real good. 2) Pasteurized milk causes acne.but Rice Drink is dang tasty. 3) The recommendation "try new things" does not apply to me. Once I was over my tantrum, Cameron and I had a great day. I will admit that it felt odd skiing someplace that 1) I could feel my lungs and 2) had no snow anywhere but on the slopes, but I was able ...

The Butlers: April 2009
http://butlered.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
We are at two with Nature. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up. If you do in fact buy into the expression "a picture is worth a thousand words" then the following, family and friends, is my 61,000 word essay on the past couple months. 1) Cameron had to go to CA for business so Colby came up the mountain to keep me company.and he brought a couple feet of snow with him. Me, "Oh, let's do a movie marathon! 2) Cameron and I have been married 2. And then shoot the eggs...

Outnumber The Sand: sunset chase
http://outnumber-the-sand.blogspot.com/2010/08/sunset-chase.html
Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Email today to the other American girl who will be in my masters program:. I can only ground myself by knowing that there's scene coming, soon, which will be symbolic that the hard work over this last year was so amazingly worth it and that i've reached the top of this mountain that's called "grad school in sweden." i've been picturing it for a long long time. A girl i know wrote about this one time here. The scene that says you made it. September 5, 2010 at 3:05 AM. شركة عزل خ...

Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Oh we'll get there someday". You mean you're not going to follow her to the east coast for college? The mother said pleadingly but with a twinkle in her eye. Oh, wouldn't that be fun! But it's nice to know I will be missed if I'm gone. I will miss them too. no work I've ever done is as fun as tutoring these teenagers. And it's so much more than tutoring. it has to be, to establish that rapport and gain respect and mutual "like". Monday, March 29, 2010. Can't I see your blog?

Outnumber The Sand: Out of Africa
http://outnumber-the-sand.blogspot.com/2010/07/out-of-africa.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. It's amazing how things loom on the horizon and then all of the sudden they've come on gone. The posts I wrote about Africa are originally at the family website I set up for the trip, Roots of a Tree. That site has the photos if you want to check them out. Outnumber The Sand: A Dad's Gift
http://outnumber-the-sand.blogspot.com/2010/07/dads-gift.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. You have a nice home," I said. His darling daughter, a primary student who wore a pink dress and had greeted us with a hug, waved goodbye as we set off for the next home. She's a lucky girl, and I hope one day she realizes that. Her name, by the way, is Gift. Outnumber The Sand: May 2010
http://outnumber-the-sand.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 14, 2010. We sipped wine and the waves hit loudly against the nearby stretch of sand. Flames from the restaurant's heat lamp kept us warm in the cool evening breeze. And we had a conversation so full of things we've discussed with other friends in different ways for the past few years. What, where, who, why, when? The topic that twenty-somethings return to again and again. Especially, I find, single twenty-somethings. One of the questions that tugs the most can be the "who? Monday, May 10, 20...
