Thursday, 29 September 2011. September Open Meeting decisions. The group's Open Meeting on 17 September decided to:. Get rid of the cycling priority track. On south Millfields. People on foot will have priority on the whole of the Black Path, once the redesign work is done. Go ahead with the orchard path. On the lines decided in April. You should see signs of this starting soon. All the work will be done by hand. Get started on exploring ideas to improve the playground. You can see the minutes here.

Saturday, 11 June 2011. Good dog / bad owner. The council is consulting on measures to lessen the public impact of irresponsible dog ownership. This is largely about leads and dog-free areas. It doesn't mention damage to trees, which is a problem on Millfields. So we'd encourage you to include this in your response. The survey is here. You can respond online or on paper. Saturday, 23 July 2011. We have a working group of 5 committee members working on play. The group has begun discussions with the council and Ruth Smyth reports on progress. The playground - can we use this space better? MUG has been trying to get the toilet/kiosk used better. We also discussed the paddling pool space and made it clear to the council that action must be taken to turn this into a useful space for the park. Tuesday, 20 March 2012. New committee and strong working groups. It was encouraging at the AGM to find yet more people getting involved in working groups on improving the park. We now have good solid groups working on play, and on the Casimir Road entrance / old paddling pool area. They include several park users with relevant professional skills, so what is emerging is a design advisory group for MUG. A group on dogs is in formation. Emma Jack (chair; Play group convenor).
