Tim Hetherington –. The UK Association was started in 2003, initially to support the Milton Margai School for the Blind in Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown. Over time the concerns have broadened beyond the primary school to include support for former pupils in secondary and university education, and in vocational training. In 2010 the name of the Association was changed to reflect a wish to support other schools for the blind in Sierra Leone.
