The Mindful Music Therapist: April 2014
https://mindfulmusictherapist.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The Mindful Music Therapist. Conversations about music therapy. Monday, April 7, 2014. 5 Reasons Why You Need To Process in Music Therapy. I was off listening to a terrific podcast on processing. Over at the Music Therapy Round Table. As Michelle mentioned (either in the Round Table podcast or the Music Therapy Pro. Podcast), this business of processing. Especially in clinical supervision. I'm determined (determined, I say! To convince the music therapy world that we need to make processing a regular par...

https://mindfulmusictherapist.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
The Mindful Music Therapist. Conversations about music therapy. Saturday, October 25, 2014. Asking for help (the hard way). Some days I come home from work feeling as if my clients all hate me. Now don't all jump in with the "oh, come on, they don't hate. Why do you insist on seeing yourself that way? They appreciate you, why would you say. Because that would be missing the point. You Well, maybe they do, but probably it's not really about. Will it mean anything? What if they wish I wouldn't come because...

https://mindfulmusictherapist.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
The Mindful Music Therapist. Conversations about music therapy. Sunday, February 17, 2013. Fifty shades of "no". I've been sitting and stewing over the fact that one of my clients decided not to come to his session yesterday. Obviously, it's not the end of the world, and it's mostly likely he'll be back. But I know he's upset with me and he's struggling with a lot of feelings because of the difficult work we're doing right now. I'd like to pause here to say what a vulnerable moment this is- for me anyway...

The Mindful Music Therapist. Conversations about music therapy. Thursday, January 31, 2013. 2013 Social Media Advocacy Month. It's Social Media Advocacy Month. Again, and this year we're talking about connections and the stories we share about music therapy. Or, put another way, we might say we're looking at how our stories define us and then help us to connect with each other. In the process we consider our beliefs about music, about therapy, how we define music therapy, what we understand about health/...

She loved me and took care of me from the start! Then I grew up some more and went to college, moving out. Good thing we had choir together everyday! YEARS ...

Music Therapy and End-of-Life Care. All posts by Noah Potvin. March 8, 2016. We’re running a cat hospice. I hadn’t really connected the dots in that way until my wife said it out loud to friends. While I had been aware of it on an intellectual level, it was jarring to hear it framed in that way. Suddenly, we weren’t curing our 18-year-old feline’s failing kidneys or reversing her ailing liver functioning. Rather, we were making her comfortable, bearing witness, and waiting. Mindful Musings | Code, love, life, peace and dogs!
A lot of my dreams and aspirations for space physics were motivated in part by the work of this man. August 5, 1930 August 25, 2012). 68 days since surgery, not much better, numbness and irritation the same. Since not much has changed, I wanted to copy and paste an email that I wrote to a friend of mine from a previous place of employment. I thought it was quite succinct and explained how I felt at this time in my life. So here it is, as written. 59 days since surgery, nurse says wait another 240 days.
Mindful Musings
Everything is exactly what it is. Is in the universe. It is all round us and. In the air we breath. The great mystery is in. The wind and the earth. And directed by it. We are of the great mystery. As it is our being. We are free to ponder it. Or be ignorant of it. The great mystery is the. Question and the answer. It has no limits and. The great mystery is. The means and the end. It is unsolvable yet. It may be understood. We live the great mystery. As it is us. God is the stillness. But we cannot escape.
