Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: Workshop Makeover, Part 1
http://felix-enterprises-woodworking.blogspot.com/2016/12/workshop-makeover-part-1.html
Monday, December 26, 2016. Workshop Makeover, Part 1. We're full on into snow season here in upstate NY so I'm really enjoying my basement workshop. With the insulation of the earth, added insulation I put in the walls it is the most comfortable room in the house. As an added complication I'm getting work done on one of my foundation walls this spring. I've got salt from vehicle runoff in my garage infiltrating through the cinder block walls. The washer, dryer and utility sink aren't going anywhere. ...

Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: November 2016
http://felix-enterprises-woodworking.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 27, 2016. It's winter in upstate NY. Okay, technically it is still fall; however, we had over a foot of snow last week and I had to clear the driveway. That makes it winter in my book. Regardless, whether the season is fall or winter, it is definitely woodworking season again. I left the square of carpet on top because I didn't have a good idea how to wrap the sisal around the top and that carpet was still in good shape. Also, the kittens are almost full sized but still super cute. To gl...

Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: March 2016
http://felix-enterprises-woodworking.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 28, 2016. My local Woodcraft store had a sale on Jet power tools a month or so ago and I decided it was time to buy the drum sander I've been saving up for. I didn't have quite enough money in the piggy bank but it was close enough that it wasn't worth passing up the sale savings. The instructions said to start with the legs so I started by unboxing the assembly stand pieces. Everything was very well packed. Each powder individual piece was wrapped in a separate heavy plastic bag to...The l...

Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: January 2016
http://felix-enterprises-woodworking.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 18, 2016. Where have you been? Why haven't I been doing woodworking? Why start blogging now? About ten years ago I helped a friend build a nice gaming table top. I helped with the design ideas and tools but pretty much all the work was his. My friend (let's call him Mike to preserve his anonymity) finished the top but didn't have a clear concept of what kind of legs he wanted. Since the top was pretty solid we figured we could make do with temporary legs. Making those table legs has inspi...

Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: April 2016

Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Ten Year Temporary Router Table. I built this router table in an evening about ten years ago. I needed a router table for a project (I don't remember which one) and I needed it quick. The quickest and easiest router table is to drill a hole in a sheet of plywood and attach the router directly to it. I decided to go one step up. The fence is also pretty basic. It is essentially two pieces of plywood with more plywood keeping the back stiff. Sunday, April 24, 2016. A friend of mine...

Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: Dresser, Part 8 - The Top
http://felix-enterprises-woodworking.blogspot.com/2016/12/dresser-part-8-top.html
Sunday, December 25, 2016. Dresser, Part 8 - The Top. As I've been ramping up my woodworking for this winter I've been spending some time on the top to the dresser. I don't have a lot of pictures mostly because despite it taking me two or three weeks to get it ready for the finishing room there's not really that many steps to it. This was a horrible idea. The first board passed through without any issue but the second board got stuck halfway through. When I stopped the planer and took a look at t...I unp...

Felix Enterprises' Woodworking Projects: Dresser, Part 7 - Drawer Fronts
http://felix-enterprises-woodworking.blogspot.com/2016/12/dresser-part-7-drawer-fronts.html
Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Dresser, Part 7 - Drawer Fronts. Note: This posting is going up in December 2016; however, the progress was actually made back in June 2016 time-frame. I just got too busy to write it up.]. Turns out there's a lot of holes each of which need some level of countersinking. After putting tape in all the openings I moved onto mounting the drawer fronts. So where are we at with number of holes drilled? Dresser with drawers installed. That said, there are three issues already. Unfor...
