Oh, you mean *those* Martins? The Seven Signposts of Spring. We recently passed the first calendar day of Spring but I know it’s not really Spring yet. Given Wisconsin’s weather, I have my own criteria for when Spring actually begins. When we hear birdsong and see squirrels. When the snow begins to melt in earnest. When there is no ice left anywhere on our driveway. When I can walk from the front street to the back commons area without walking through snow. When we see leaf buds on the trees.

On Wednesday, Grandma Martin got to spend most of the day at the zoo with Esther, Katherine, Bethany, and Christine. Afterwards, once I got home, we took Grandma out for dinner, to The Great Dane. Oh, you mean *those* Martins? February 15th, 8:24pm. 6 pounds, 4 ounces. 18 and 1/2 inches. Mom and Dad couldn’t decide whether to name me Esther Grace or Esther Kaylee. Then I cried all night (instead of sleeping like the doctors said I would). Mom and Dad decided that I wasn’t acting very graceful and decided to name me Kaylee. Oh, you mean *those* Martins? Is very long, but worth reading. Especially as a parent that has considered home schooling my own children. A friend of mine, a homeschool mom, just passed away of cancer. In the week before she died, I asked her if she had any regrets in her life. She told me she wished she had baked less bread - she said if she had it to do over again she would buy bread and spend more time with her children. Raising Family as an Idol.
