A War on Two Fronts. A World War Two miniature figurine Blog by a perennial underachiever. Featuring 15mm and 28mm painting and modelling. Wednesday, 14 January 2015. When's an M5 half track not an M5? When you realise you've bought a box of M3 half tracks, complete with US crew for your Brit force. D'oh! You'd think the American infantry would be a big give away! 2 and 1/2 infantry sections. On the painting desk. On the desk I have the battlefront Desert Rats in Normandy infantry. I'm going for a la...

A showcase for my minis and a place to ramble about miniatures and gaming in general. Monday, October 31, 2011. Having started terrain boards for Russia - specifically the battles toward Stalingrad, I came across a website with many great modern pictures of the areas I am planning to model. The site is here:. Pictured below is somewhat what I am trying to represent. It is a picture of a gully near modern Spartanovka from Tony Gillhams site. Ignore the gully bottom grass and look to the right. This is...

A showcase for my minis and a place to ramble about miniatures and gaming in general. Friday, July 1, 2011. Poking Along.Back on track. For highlighting Fieldgrey of Franz, I have added Vallejo Sand Yellow 916 (instead of white) and the result is a richer grey/green which I think looks bang on for a little variety. I have seen some color plates that have soldats with various shades of Fieldgrey even in the same unit. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Poking Along.Back on track. Finished up ...

Hit the KV with the foam chipper and dusted the chassis and fenders. Probably spending too much time on this on but it is a huge mini compared to the others I have painted - weighs like a pound or so! I think I will add some slogans to this one - Za Rodinu! A showcase for my minis and a place to ramble about miniatures and gaming in general. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Finally finished re-basing my Grenadiers with the new style and finished the heavy weapon teams. Really happy with the new basing, it was a real issue with the old ones, I was happy with the figures but the basing really picked my ass. I just couldn't leave them alone! Above is a 8cm Granatwerfer. I completed two mortar and four sMG teams as well as a three Panzerbüchse teams. British 'flim...

A showcase for my minis and a place to ramble about miniatures and gaming in general. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Had some time to look over the box of EW SS German Infantry from Battlefront's GE791 SS Panzergrenadier Platoon and picked out a rifleman to start the show. These are a pretty good-looking bunch of Nazis, uniforms and equipment are accurate and sharply detailed. These sculpts suffer the same bobble-headed, somewhat ogre-ish features - but - I like it! Nice goal Kevin Bieksa! Links to this post.
