Monday, November 24, 2014. For Veteran's Day we decided to go to Darmstadt. Only about 1/2 hour from where we live, Darmstadt was the capital of Hesse, which was an independent country until the formation of the German Empire in 1871. Side note, I recently read this. Article, and it mentions President Uchtdorf and his family lived in Darmstadt when the Berlin wall came down :). Here are some of the things we've seen so far. Wilhelminenplatz, with the Church of St. Ludwig in the background. We also notice...

I realized I had not posted pictures of my "Store." I rent a space in a store called "3 Little Black Birds." It is full of crafters/artists who make, repurpose, or whatever and sell them in one big house! My cute little wicker chair sold. I miss it. I will have to find another:). Ada on Dance Recital night. Isn't she beautiful! Now back to my "store&#...

Rick, Debi, Loni, Ada and Tyce. A little peek into what we do when you aren’t looking……………. Saturday, November 23, 2013. I don't think I posted these. I have been thinking about painting our piano. Has anyone ever known anyone who has done this? Just wondering. Loni wants it green. I am thinking about it. I took the kids to the zoo. They climbed around like spiders. One little kid climbing around had a spiderman hat on. I thought that was funny. Posing for a picture. She is a very silly little girl.

Our House: February 2015
http://liddell6.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 2, 2015. I propose that there are actually 5 seasons - Spring, Summer, Fall, Christmas Winter, and Ugly Winter. I seriously get excited for Christmas Winter every year, and I especially love a White Christmas. It's beautiful, it's festive, it's magical. Usually the temperature isn't too terrible, and you can actually enjoy the outdoors. Sledding and building snowmen, then drinking Hot Cocoa to warm up. It's a Winter Wonderland. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Joe and I had the opportunity to t...

Wednesday, December 25, 2013. I do so love this tradition :) Last year we had one of the stockings rip, and this year we couldn't find one, so these are new, but temporary stockings. I'm hoping to get some new ones in Germany next year! Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Peace on Earth, Goodwill Toward Men. My version of a last-minute Christmas card. Better late than never? Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Nothing Could Go Wrong, Right? Kids in the brig. How many of these knots can YOU tie? She's queen of the world.

Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Over Memorial Day weekend, Joe and I wanted to go explore Heidelberg. Our kids did not want to go walk around another boring town, looking at churches and castle ruins. What? Whatever, we went with out them. Who needs dumb kids anyway? Mark Twain wrote about Heidelberg castle, specifically the split turret (pictures below) in. Second is the Heidelberg Tun, the world's largest wine barrel. It was built in 1751 to hold all the wine that was paid as taxes from the local wine gro...

Seriously Earnest: Halloween/Trunk or Treat
http://seriouslyearnest.blogspot.com/2014/11/halloweentrunk-or-treat.html
November 10, 2014. Another Halloween came and went. We kept things pretty low-key this year. First we hit up our ward Trunk-or-Treat, where we played carnival-style games, ate lots of chili, and got tons of candy trunk-or-treating. On the actual night of Halloween, we cooked up a Papa Murphy's Jack-o-Lantern pizza, then dressed up and went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. It is unreal how much candy my kids have from one trip around the block. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). M is for McBride.
