Fantastic Fosters: January 2013
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Est May 8, 2010. Friday, January 25, 2013. The not so beautiful side of childbirth. I know I have moms that read this that have many more kids than me. I'm not an expert like you, but I do have my 2 cents. If anyone wants to add stuff to the comments, feel free! Some things I wish I would have known:. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat once I was admitted, but I wish I would have eaten more before I was admitted to the hospital. Some glimmers of light during a rough childbirth/recovery:. Next time if we ca...

Fantastic Fosters: Our Healing Birth
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2014/10/our-healing-birth.html
Est May 8, 2010. Saturday, October 18, 2014. Induction because I was dilated enough and on my due date- this started it all. My OB was the doc in the hospital that night and wanted to deliver my baby. I was at 4cm dilated so that was enough to have me admitted to the hospital. I wish I had known better and that the doc would have also. I never got to experience a natural contraction. Which led to…. 2 Pitocin = super strong contractions that didn’t really work. Which led to…. 7 2 episiotomies. Ouch. 12 Ha...

Fantastic Fosters: August 2013
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Est May 8, 2010. Monday, August 5, 2013. What You Probably Dont Understand About My Activism. It is National Breastfeeding Awareness month! Now before you get offended, because I know some of you are, I do not mean to say that God intended children to starve because there is the 3-4% of women that cannot breastfeed, that women should all be able to get pregnant. Goodness sakes, no! We have options now; viable options for those that are otherwise unable to. Feminism doesn’t have to mean I am an angr...

Fantastic Fosters: Sleep!
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2013/06/sleep.html
Est May 8, 2010. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Pretty ironic that I was planning on writing this today then right as I sit down Daniel starts protesting his nap. Sleep has finally gotten better! It only took 14 months. We are still at 2 naps a day, one of which I hold him, but that time he is in the crib is usually about 1.5 hours. Me time! We will get the hang of it eventually! Yeah for sleep for Daniel and mommy! June 21, 2013 at 9:50 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Fantastic Fosters: December 2012
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Est May 8, 2010. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Wow that month went fast. If you see my posts on facebook you probably noticed me getting excited a few times this month about his sleep progression. After letting him figure out how to get himself to sleep on his own, we all found out he is a tummy sleeper. This made the unswaddling very easy because his arms can't wake him up when he's on his belly. Naps are a different story. He is starting to nap around the same time everyday which is nice, but I still...

Fantastic Fosters: We're Not There Anymore
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2014/09/were-not-there-anymore.html
Est May 8, 2010. Monday, September 8, 2014. We're Not There Anymore. What a year this has been so far! I can't say that I've enjoyed a lot of it but it has definitely been quite the family learning experience. In my last update you saw that David was heading overseas and we just found out that I'm pregnant. Considering that was 7 months ago and things have changed quite a bit. I've been receiving a lot of questions about where we are now. I don't blame anyone- we were moving around A LOT. David gets home...

Fantastic Fosters: My honest thoughts on baby #2
http://verticallygiftedfosters.blogspot.com/2013/10/my-honest-thoughts-on-baby-2.html
Est May 8, 2010. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. My honest thoughts on baby #2. I have started to get questions or hints regarding when the next baby will come. I mostly laugh it off or change the subject because to be completely honest I am entirely not ready for another child. Its not you, its me. Daniel is a wonderful child. He is curious, loving, and is doing what he should be doing at his age. Motherhood is not what I thought it would be. Comparing yourself to others is human nature and I am guilty of it.
