The Gazelle Running Blog: November 2014

Friday, November 21, 2014. Weekly Log 17-Nov to 23-Nov-2014. Annual post-Rhody Monday morning sunrise course sweep. Mandy and Tammy had done the best sweeping job I've ever seen, as there were only 3 gel wraps and a single flag left behind. The weather was raining and cold with much of the course flooded. That's OK; at least it was dry for all the runners racing yesterday. Return to Blue Heron Trail (Dedham, MA) to try to navigate the full loop again. Success! First section was rough with. After 5 consec...
The Gazelle Running Blog: Block Island Triathlon
http://misquamicutrunner.blogspot.com/2015/08/block-island-triathlon.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. Here is my account of my 4th consecutive Block Island Tri, my favorite tri. Why I am enamored with this tri? Barefoot run on the beach! Block Island is beautiful. We usually make a day of it with friends, including the ferry ride and a nice lunch. Being a runner, the proportions work well for me (see examples below with mileage by event):. Chillin' on the ferry ride over. Matthew (foreground) and I. En route to the start of the tri. Photo by Chris - riding and taking pics? Comin...

Just another running blog: 800/mile workout archive
http://middistancerenaissance.blogspot.com/p/workout-type-part-of-season-high.html
Just another running blog. This page is a compilation of every track workout I did in college while training for the 800 and mile. Information on the recoveries or paces is missing in some cases because I was lazy and/or didn't have the foresight to know that I'd be putting this in a blog someday. AnaerCond = Anaerobic conditioning. Tempo/cruise pace; equivalent to Daniels' "T"). AerCap = Aerobic capacity (3K-10K pace; equivalent to Daniels' "I"). Cruz with 800,600 after each set. 4x200, 4x300 w/200 rest.

Just another running blog: Belleville Pond 10K
http://middistancerenaissance.blogspot.com/2015/02/belleville-pond-10k.html
Just another running blog. Thursday, February 12, 2015. In a sport in which the difference between one's perception of success and failure can be a few seconds per mile, it is liberating to run a race without any concern for the clock. Nothing provides this freedom like a snow-covered trail race, and Ryan ("Jonny") Park has become just the place to find such a race. After last year's success, there was no doubt the daggers. Would be making a return appearance at Belleville. We struggled as a unit through...

Just another running blog: April 2015
http://middistancerenaissance.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Just another running blog. Saturday, April 11, 2015. I haven’t had a truly disappointing race in quite some time. Rather, I hadn’t. Had a truly disappointing race until the Brrr-lingame 10-mile trail race two weeks ago. My confidence was high going into the race, as my knee and hip were feeling good enough that I’d started to re-introduce some workouts into my routine a few weeks back. I’d also had several runs of at least 10 miles since December, which is a pretty big deal for me. My hope of catching Br...
Beth Runs* in RI : Three Things Thursday
https://bethrunsinri.blogspot.com/2015/08/three-things-thursday.html
Beth Runs* in RI. Runs, rides, knits, reads and rambles irreverently about whatever is on her mind. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Embarking on week one, I'm struggling with either the Narragansett 1/2 training plan or the time goal. The plan – it’s totally reasonable and I am capable. The time goal – it’s totally reasonable and I am capable. So what’s the issue? I'm not sure I really want to put in the effort to get to a 2 hour 1/2. Or is that wrong? I’m rather impressed with his perseverance? Weekly Recap: ...

Just another running blog. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. A picturesque day as we depart Galilee. Fast forward a month (and three more open water swims! 8221; I squeezed my stuff into place and sat around for a while to wait for Katie and the kids to arrive on the next ferry. Once they got there, I played in the sand with Seb for a bit before donning my wetsuit and jogging over to the start. I found Tommy and stood with him, awaiting our turn. Steve regales us with a tale or two on the ferry ride over.

Just another running blog. Friday, July 17, 2015. Ragnar Trail Relay and Four on the Fourth. Yes, yes, I know, I'm a bit behind. Sunday, April 8, 2018. Weekly Log 2-Apr to 8-Apr-2018: Turning Point. Awesome day out on the trails: Snow in April! Wish I could have stayed out there much longer.
