The Spaghetti Taco Experiment | Miss Havisham's Comeback Tour
https://misshavishamreturns.wordpress.com/2010/10/24/the-spaghetti-taco-experiment
Miss Havisham's Comeback Tour. Just another WordPress.com site. Where’ve I been? The Spaghetti Taco Experiment. October 24, 2010. Yesterday, we ate spaghetti tacos. Thank you, iCarly. They actually weren’t at all bad. They weren’t great — after the first one, I switched to taco-shell-less spaghetti, and so did the kids — but they weren’t bad! Here’s what we did:. Then we boiled up some thin spaghetti and baked some taco shells. I think the taco shells are where we went wrong. Our usual brand is L...Anywa...

Miss Havisham's Comeback Tour. Just another WordPress.com site. The best of the internet. My people →. December 6, 2010. Remember back in, what, 2000 or whatever, when Harry Potter was the big thing and I refused to read the books because if everyone likes them, how great can they be? And then I finally gave in and now they are a favorite? Well… that’s a theme for me, I guess. Naturally, I quite liked them both. Anyone want to forgive me for being perpetually late to the party and talk Sedaris with me?

Miss Havisham's Comeback Tour. Just another WordPress.com site. Jump in bed and cover your head ’cause… →. December 7, 2010. There are people you meet, and you click with them, and it’s instantly like they were always a part of you. It can be romantic, but it’s not always, and in the particular instance I’m thinking of, it never was, despite that one truth-or-dare session that ended in a kiss. Like kissing my brother, man. The brother I never had, I guess. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Friday, September 14, 2012. Fake it til you make it? And then, with a ring of the phone, he was in. And I was immediately and irreversibly ELATED. All the uncertainty melted away. It was the Right Thing for him, for us. And suddenly, being at home was the Right Thing for him, for us - FOR ME. Yeah For me, too. Believe me, I'm just as surprised as you are. WHAT IS SHE DOING OUT HERE ON A WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON? I no longer feel like an imposter in my own life, which is just so liberating. As long summer ...
The Mommasaurus: March 2013

Friday, March 29, 2013. On what becomes memories. My mom played Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond in the car a lot when I was little. I still know all the words to just about every Manilow song there is, and I can sing along to the entire soundtrack of The Jazz Singer. In some sad, sick way, I'm sort of proud of this. And while some things still seem so far away. I love the way my memory calls them back to me when I need them. Or (most likely) something that I'm not even considering? Sunday, March 24, 2013.

Monday, May 6, 2013. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Two years ago today was my last day as a fixture in the world of working adults. I've waxed poetic on plenty of the ways my life is different now that I'm with the kids full time, so in honor of my personal independence day I thought I'd change things up a little and point out some of the ways things haven't really changed at all. Now I make no money because nobody pays stay at home moms to just be moms! Turns out, it's basically t...

Sunday, March 24, 2013. That was then, this is now. Today I am 34. If you told me ten years ago that on my 34th birthday, I would quite happily spend my day attending Palm Sunday services, watching Peter Pan with my husband and kids, and then going roller skating with the Daisy troop I lead - I would have laughed so, so hard. That's okay though. I just didn't know. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Seeking hope, joy, and peace in a world that does its best to hide it from us. View my complete profile.

Thursday, February 14, 2013. Slipping through my fingers. I walked across an empty land. I knew the pathway like the back of my hand. I felt the earth beneath my feet. Sat by the river and it made me complete. Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on. So tell me when you're gonna let me in. I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin. I came across a fallen tree. I felt the branches of it looking at me. Is this the place we used to love? So why don't we go?

In the story Pip describes Miss Havisham like "I saw that the bride within the bridal dress had withered like the dress, and like the flowers, and had no brightness left but the brightness of her sunken eyes.". Miss Havisham is the stangest lady Pip has ever seen and is dressed in rich materials such as satins,. If I could chose an actor to play Miss Havisham i would probably chose Jane Fonda. Miss Havisham's Ghosts - A play based on the novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
A one-hour stage performance. Based on the novel Great Expectations. Startling interpretation of notorious character! Miss Havisham is perhaps one of the most astonishing and memorable female characters ever created by Charles Dickens. In the novel Great Expectations she plays a dominant role in placing Pip, the protagonist, on the road to becoming a ‘gentleman’ and at the same time through introducing him to Estella, which leads him on to the heart-breaking conclusion.
