A time for harvest. Thoughts from the many facets of life. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. In order to get meaningful time (purhaps time to experience the beautiful? A certain amount of money is required. Hence comes the delemma; time or money. And more to the point; office cube work really sucks. How to avoid it? Or taking into account the equation, how to minimize it? Get the most money for your time? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Winthrop, WA, United States. View my complete profile.

Lois E. Lane: The day I met my daughter
http://lois-e-lane.blogspot.com/2012/02/day-i-met-my-daughter.html
The day I met my daughter. I remember it like it was yesterday; I really do. The night my water broke at home while spending time with family is so fresh in my mind. What I remember most of all was the calm. Kissing my son goodnight before we left for the hospital and singing "You've Got a Friend In Me" one last time with him as my only child. I had no idea what to expect from a daughter. My son was flat-out awesome.how would she compare? Very touching. A keeper. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Flyin...

A Jolly Company: Science and Religion
http://jollycompany.blogspot.com/2006/02/science-and-religion.html
Life, the universe, and medical residency. Saturday, February 25, 2006. A very smart friend of mine, who is more widely read on this topic than I, recently posited several questions to me. I'm going to selectively quote her below, followed by my thoughts. Yes, I'm lazy in just quoting some emails, but also I think the questions are important, and well-phrased by Apollonia. What does that mean for the scientist? In that sense, science is utterly subordinate to religion, or more properly, to faith, for rel...

A Jolly Company: Growing old together
http://jollycompany.blogspot.com/2008/04/growing-old-together.html
Life, the universe, and medical residency. Monday, April 07, 2008. Twenty years hence my eyes may grow,. If not quite dim, yet rather so;. Yet yours from others they shall know,. 60 years of gentle harassment? Before the husband could say anything else, his wife replied: "Best decision I ever made. And I figure we're good for another 15 or so.". I've been smiling all week remembering the look they gave each other at that point. Monday, April 07, 2008. April 07, 2008 8:37 AM. Grow old along with me! A fam...

A Jolly Company: Hope
http://jollycompany.blogspot.com/2008/07/hope.html
Life, the universe, and medical residency. Monday, July 28, 2008. My one question is, can I have this at home? Those were almost the last words he said before we put the endotracheal tube down his throat and started breathing for him. Mr. Baker was an old, old man with lungs that had pretty much given up on him. Thanks to the miracle of modern medicine, he now has at least a few weeks of drug-induced sleep ahead of him before he can rest eternally. I wanted to write about that. About how I've been fo...

A Jolly Company: Parenthood
http://jollycompany.blogspot.com/2006/04/parenthood.html
Life, the universe, and medical residency. Monday, April 24, 2006. I recommend reading it all, it isn't long. But this struck me first:. Your children] come through you but not from you,. And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. It was that line which pointed out the essential silliness of my conclusions. Children, any children, even mine, should I ever have any, belong only to themselves and to G-d. Gibran follows that thought with:. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

A Jolly Company: Patients I don't like
http://jollycompany.blogspot.com/2006/01/patients-i-dont-like.html
Life, the universe, and medical residency. Tuesday, January 24, 2006. Patients I don't like. The Zen Master is a really good doctor. Despite his unassuming manner, his constant mention of what he doesn't know, and his cynical commentary about patients like this, he considers closely the cost of what he orders, he considers the patient as a whole, and he takes into account the quirks of human nature. And he is always learning new ways to improve. Tuesday, January 24, 2006. January 24, 2006 9:16 PM. Into t...

Lois E. Lane: Linda's Meme

This is one straight 2nd Cup of Coffee. Feel free to answer it in the comments or copy it on your own blog! 1 When you go to Wowmart, what one thing do you get every single time, besides a funky-wheeled squeaking cart full of frustration? Parents Choice organic, biodegradable baby wipes. It's not easy being green.oh wait, it is! 2 What is something that people are currently "into" that you just don't get or appreciate? Big Brother." A time for harvest: The 23 year
http://bumblingpilgrim.blogspot.com/2008/03/23-year.html
A time for harvest. Thoughts from the many facets of life. Saturday, March 01, 2008. It is curious that you go through an entire year before it is counted in you favor. I am now 23. And I have not just "turned" 23 but have experienced 23 years. There is certain maturity built into the classification of age and I find I rather like it. Well, this was fitting, strangely and to a degree. How soon hath Time, the subtle thief of youth,. Stolen on his wing my three-and-twentieth year! Happy Birthday, Chief.
