No time for posers. Sunday, November 27, 2005. For the first time in my PhD, I am in at uni on a Sunday to do work. It took 7 months, but here I am. Obviously not something I want to make a habbit of, but another deadline is looming, and the weather is pretty crap anyway. This is the base drive system of the robot. Obviously other stuff goes on top of this. The robot has been designed and built by Luke Cole. Who is involved in a number of robotics projects for ANU, CSIRO among other personal projects.

No time for posers. Monday, December 26, 2005. Boxing day - the true meaning of Christmas! I am blogging to you live from my home town, The Basin, a wondrous outer Eastern suburb, nestled in the hills of the "mighty" Dandenong ranges. Cold meat leftovers from Christmas lunch have just been served up, the family is sitting around very quietly, and the cricket is on - so of course, it must be Boxing Day! Christmas day itself went according to plan. Anyway, enough blogging - there's cricket to watch! All AN...

No time for posers. Tuesday, September 27, 2005. Rock on and Compute . Man! The conference paper that kept me away from blogging to my hearts content has been submitted. I now get to wait until January to find out whether it is accepted. For those not familiar with the wonderful world of computer science research, let me shed some light on things. If my conferene paper is accepted, I get to go to Austria next year to present it - which I guess would make it my European tour. Stay tuned for tour dates!

No time for posers. Monday, February 27, 2006. Australian values - Anyone? I spent a considerable part of my Saturday reading newspaper editorials, and reports on Peter Costello's speech. Still haven't read exactly what he said, but I think I have got the gist of it now. One phrase that seems to be getting a fair amount of use in the wake of Cronulla, and now Pete's speech, is this notion of "Australian values". Just one question. What the hell are Australian values? Posted by macca at 2:58 PM. Its even ...

No time for posers. Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Posted by macca at 9:54 AM. Friday, May 27, 2005. Thank god its today. All I can say is, thank god the Corby verdict is today! The media coverage has been quite shameful. Channel 9 particularly . the lowest point being their use of "the worm" (of election debate fame) to gauge public opinion of Schapelle's guilt. What a bloody circus this has turned out to be. Posted by macca at 10:03 AM. Thursday, May 26, 2005. Everyones an expert ;). Posted by macca at 10:15 AM.

No time for posers. Thursday, June 30, 2005. So how about the weather. It's been a little hard finding the time and motivation of late to blog, as I am in the depths of writing a conference paper which is consuming all my mental resources (so what I am really saying is, I haven't been blogging because I am actually doing work). Here are some random bits of news and forthcoming blog entries. He wants something like what I did with Aff's choir concert. But I'm finding this to be quite a challenge. We have ...

No time for posers. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. South Coast Track - Day 3. Previous post: Day 2 South Coast Track. Next post: Day 4. Day 3, Fri Dec 30, 2005. General Health (as a percentage): 75%. Assessment: Good to go. This is quite alarming when you consider the popularity of the walk, and the many years for which it has existed. I advise future South Coast hikers to refrain from exploring too thoroughly, the surrounding bushland of this campsite, for one may find more than one expects. We embarked on ...
