Mk1 VW Golf 'c' restoration job. A story of a man and his mk1 golf. Thursday, April 14, 2005. One afternoon the clutch pedal hit the floor rather easily and without letting me engage a gear. After a little look in he engine bay with someone pressing the clutch, i noticed that where the clutch cable goes thru the bulkhead, was a split in the bulkhead metal which meant the cable grommet was being pulled thru and hence not letting me engage a gear. I read on the mk1 web forums about a local bloke breaking a mk1 1.3 so i met up and bought the following off him. GTi Clocks (65,300 miles) 10. GTi centre console 10. Intermittent wiper relay free. I Installed the new clocks, console and relay and the GTi clocks work a treat. I thought i'd have to run a wire to the coil to get the rev counter working, but no need! Posted by Grego at 1:32 PM.
