Good Navy Wife: Traveling America
http://goodnavywife.blogspot.com/2009/12/traveling-america.html
Wednesday, December 2, 2009. We aren't out of Virginia yet! Once we got out of this state, it was smooth sailing. After a couple of days of traveling we started to get a little rummy. By the time we stopped for the evening at a hotel, I finally had to ask which state we were in. I'm sure the hotel staff thought we were drinking. I think our favorite place was a tiny place (not sure it's even classified as a town) called Canistota. City, we decided to take the next exit. There was a sign for lodging.

Sunday, June 5, 2011. When we got to the room, Dave called the front desk to ask if that means we won’t have any hot water. The lady told him that’s what it meant, and to have a nice day. Really? The hot water is going to be shut off at 6:00 in the morning and we have an afternoon wedding to go to, and they want us to have a nice day? But we love you for coming though! Good Navy Wife: January 2012
http://goodnavywife.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 1, 2012. Farewell and Following Seas. After 28 years, it is finally time to say goodbye to Navy life. Its been interesting, to say the least. There have been many good times, lots of tears, but always sweet reunions. I’m not sure I know what its like to have my husband home every night, but I’m ready to find out. I’ve heard people tell of dirty diapers that got packed. Yes, the military move is quite the experience. Go to the Washington Monument. IT IS AWESOME! Thank you, Navy. Our fi...

Good Navy Wife: The Perils of Travel
http://goodnavywife.blogspot.com/2011/05/perils-of-travel.html
Monday, May 23, 2011. The Perils of Travel. As we drove around and looked at the amazing rock formations, I begin to realize why I don't like eating KFC. Not being used to eating such greasy food, my stomach was not feeling too great and I actually asked Dave to take it easy on the bumps. As the sun set, we were able to witness some interesting color changes. Its always an adventure when we go for a ride in the Jeep! We headed back to town, thankful we "walked away from another one.". Good Navy Wife: March 2009
http://goodnavywife.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2009. We moved about 6 times in the first 5 years of our marriage, from a small apartment, to two different duplexes, a guest house, a tiny apartment in Hawaii's ghetto, and then our first base housing. Ever live in a cement house? It's hard to hang pictures on the wall. Next came the base housing in Lemoore, CA. Talk about your little boxes! And then a year or two later, they decide on a different color. And a real two-car garage! But we still loved our little home. But a house is j...

Good Navy Wife: March 2010
http://goodnavywife.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 28, 2010. A sign of the times. There's a fabulous pizza parlor, and some chain-fast food places. When we first arrived, I was happy to find an Arby's here. But two weeks later, it was gone. And that was just the beginning. With the economy being so rocky and the fact that we are in the middle of nowhere, local businesses are closing their doors. There is not much here in the way of shopping or dining, so everyone travels to Reno or Carson City, both an hour's drive from here. So, in the six...
