Life, the universe and everything. Entries by tag: portrait. Enduring duress due to Dürer. April 28th, 2010. Another of my rather small (about 10cm x 15cm) ballpoint sketches after the Old Masters; this time an engraved portrait by Albrecht Dürer of his friend Willibald Pirckheimer. Alas, "drawing like Dürer" is something far easier said than done! Still, I suppose one has to try. Some small, sketchy things. May 31st, 2009. And lastly, another in my series of credit card-sized portraits. I didn't lik...

No time check but this was about - and life just is. Step back and enjoy the ride. DREAMER who adores pearls and lace, tea parties, summer adventures, fashion, the lure of a good book, interior design, photography, hot chocolate with marshmallows, Gossip Girl, the life and style of Audrey Hepburn, french culture, baking, Lula magazine and lazy days. 10 April 2010 @ 08:19 pm. No time check but this was about 9.30am. Spray my hair with CHI and moisturise my face. Select a perfume to wear. Put some makeup on.

Safari problems: mac_mini
http://mac-mini.livejournal.com/27000.html
I prefer using Safari v.2.0.4 as my default web browser although I have installed both Firefox and Opera (I find the latter's download manager to work better than Safari's for particularly large downloads) but recently have encountered a problem that is most annoying and cannot seem to find the problem behind it - when I want to upload media, Safari crashes immediately. Please, if you can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post.

A DIY map of the moon - Brian's Notebook
http://brianvds.livejournal.com/19639.html
Life, the universe and everything. A DIY map of the moon. October 26th, 2010. I took this photo of the moon a few days ago, simply using the camera's 10x zoom to get a bit closer (click on the pictures to see larger versions in a new window):. I was looking towards the east, thus north was to my left, and therefore the moon's north is also to the left on the photo. So let us rotate it a bit, in order to get north at the top, as we are used to in maps:. I have marked some of the major features of the moon:.

Apologies to Mr. Bouguereau... - Brian's Notebook
http://brianvds.livejournal.com/18306.html
Life, the universe and everything. Apologies to Mr. Bouguereau. June 13th, 2010. For this rather amateurish copy of his masterpiece "The Bather." I have gone and turned it into a piece of awkward post-impressionism. The deep rumbling sound you hear is the master spinning in his grave. Alas, strictly realistic drawing is not my strong point. Mechanical pencil, HB, on a scrap of printer paper about 15cm x 20cm:. Tags: copy after masters. Web Gallery of Art. Powered by LiveJournal.com.

Life, the universe and everything. Entries by tag: copy after masters. October 13th, 2010. A copy after "The Crucified Thief" by Robert Campin (c.1375 - 1444). For all its grim subject matter, the original is magnificent, a masterpiece of Early Netherlandish painting. And my rather crude copy cannot begin to do it justice. But here it is anyway; pencil on printer paper, 29cm x 21cm:. Tags: copy after masters. I can also mess up Michelangelo. July 6th, 2010. Tags: copy after masters. June 13th, 2010.
