Mays' Missive: September 2013
http://maysmissive.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 2, 2013. I have so many scenic shots that I haven't used, I decided to just toss a bunch in a post for entertainment. I started taking some pictures one morning of momma moose and her baby, but then another moose with her baby came in and made things interesting. We have had a lot of rain in recent weeks which has made for some gorgeous shots. Today. On the way to town this week - the pictures don't begin to do justice to the light on the mountains around the rainbows! A few weeks ago.

Mays' Missive: June 2011
http://maysmissive.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Seward and the fossil beds. It was so cute how the male was showing off the great spot he had, trying to entice the female to approve! This little bird just sat there snoozing with people walking right up to it. This Tufted Puffin was hilarious! This wasn't the best shot I got of him, but it did show his cheekiness best! He kept swimming right up to me, then turning and splashing me as he dove! On Sunday Rodney and I decided to hike up to the fossil beds since I never got the chan...

Mays' Missive: May 2011
http://maysmissive.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 16, 2011. School groups work teams = busy. The sun that I posted about in the last blog post has been doing its work and spring has made tremendous progress in recent weeks. When I look at the pictures in that last post I'm amazed at how much snow we had so recently! One of the first projects this spring has been working on a new septic system for Nadine, wife of the camp founder. The first thing to do was cut down some trees to make room for it. Is it a wolf? Nah, it's just a Labradufus out ...

Mays' Missive: July 2013
http://maysmissive.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 21, 2013. In between building spurts, there is work to be done - Rodney to the slope and me at Victory. There's a lot of catching up on paperwork to do in between! The Victory parking lot:. They fill the water truck and spray down the roads when it gets really dry. It helps keep down the dust. There are only two more weeks of camp left this summer. I feel like I've missed most of it this year. Every so often though, I'll catch a glimpse that makes my heart happy. Like this:. Measure twice, c...

More craziness coming on soon though so I knew if I didn't get it done NOW I'd be in even bigger trouble! Two graduations coming up in the next month, plus summer coming on! It's gonna be wild! Andrei graduates May 10 and leaves for NY for two weeks the night he graduates. Then Oksana graduates May 26. What a year! Here's this year's continuous flow ice sculpture:. Breaking u...

Mays' Missive: May 2014
http://maysmissive.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 13, 2014. October had us racing the snow coming down the mountains. Thankfully Barry stuck with us! Starting to come together. And the ridge pole going in! Some days it wasn't so clear who was winning - us or the snow. We had a lot of help at this point thankfully! They all helped us finish the race! The Keurig was a welcome addition to the "tools of the trade". Mornings go a lot better when there is strong coffee involved. It also seems to aid with the "cyphering". The roof mostly done!

Mays' Missive: February 2013
http://maysmissive.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Turning around (and moving around a little to get a better view) this is what it looks like above and behind me. There's our sunbeam just up the mountain a bit! With the brilliant snow and clear skies, we actually get quite a bit of daylight, just no direct sun for a while. It's still spectacularly beautiful. And when the moon is out on a clear night reflecting off the snow, it might as well be twilight. The first is twilight, the second moonlight. New York and the Alley cat.
