A Bit of Background | Green Grove - A Place to Grow
https://mollyedelen1.wordpress.com/20131103a-bit-of-background
Green Grove – A Place to Grow. Life in the West Virginia Hills. A Bit of Background. A Bit of Background. From the time when I was very young my family would come to Lost River State Park in Mathias, WV. It was for me a magical place, a place where I felt more alive, more at home, and more me than anywhere else on earth. As time went by life took its inevitable twists and turns and for nearly 20 years I didn’t come here. There have been some adjustments to make, moving from a city in MA to a place where ...

Village Wise Woman: June 2015
http://johanna-villagewisewoman.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
What's New In The Village. Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The Magic of Wildwood Days. It started the Friday morning before Memorial Day on my way to work. As I got to the Wawa for my morning coffee, there were the cars loaded up with bags, beach chairs, boogie boards, and smiling people wearing sunglasses, sun hats and flip-flops, all ready for the long summer-opening weekend at the beach. Completely jealous, I muttered under my breath, "Bastards! That house in the Crest was my dad's peace and solace. It was...

What's New In The Village. Tuesday, February 12, 2013. The Passing of the Oak Tree. Last Thursday started as a really good day. I managed to get all of my household chores out of the way early, brewed up some iced orange and mint green tea, and made a dark chocolate cake with buttercream icing. I did a bit of writing and then called my mom-in-law to chat for a bit. Then, a mini-disaster struck. No one is touching that tree! He yelled to me through the receiver. Just get them all out of here. And then are...

What's New In The Village. Thursday, November 21, 2013. Musings for a Late Autumn Day. Today I awoke wanting to write. I have nothing specific in mind, no designated topic, no real point to convey but, perhaps by the end of this, it will reveal itself. So, perhaps the point here is that, amid loss, sadness and endings, there is gain, joy and beginnings. The wheel continues to turn. Yes, I think that is the message I have been given today. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. So It Ends, So It Begins. In an annual...

What's New In The Village. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Yes, children get sick. Yes, some of them may experience a febrile seizure. Yes, a mother going through this with their child is scared beyond rational thought by something like this. But, I am sure you are asking, how did this affect me so strongly? Light rekindled. Light rekindled. It was then that I remembered that it was Imbolc eve (because that went completely out of mind at the beginning of this whole ordeal) and my tears stopped. Blessed Samhain...

What's New In The Village. Monday, August 11, 2014. The Last Days of Summer. And it truly is all right! What if I could create a gorgeous abundant Village Wise Woman garden at a little house at the shore? What if the hubby and I waited another couple of years when our son is settled in college and made the big move? What would it be like to be able to walk on the beach every night, in every season? Aye, I could do that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Last Days of Summer. Confessions of a Modern Witch.

What's New In The Village. Tuesday, August 13, 2013. The Last Days of Summer. It has been a long, winding and rough road through the Summer so far. I found myself many times in the past two months at a crossroads, holding my hands out to the Universe and asking, "What now? But the Universe has also given me some beautiful gifts through it all. After a scheduled interview and an unexpected test (Yikes! During "The Vacation That Really Wasn't a Vacation" (don't ask! I think I dare say. Why? Simply because,...

Pajamas Playmates and Breadpuddin' | southern ramblings, recipes and other razzmatazz
Pajamas Playmates and Breadpuddin’. Yep…that picture you see below has now come to full blown pick me, eat me, can and freeze me, just don’t let me die on the vine. Each day now small as it is I go out and pick at least a dozen BIG tomatoes turning pink and in a couple of days I’m ready to get my salsa groove on. The recipe that suits us and one I developed thru trial and error goes as follows:. Bon appetit, Mollye. SMELLIN GOOD IN THE KITCHEN. BON APPETIT, Mollye. Happy Anniversary to my Hubby. God answ...
The Average Musings of Molly: Technology Style | Molly-Ann's adventure of incorporating technology in the classroom
The Average Musings of Molly: Technology Style. Molly-Ann's adventure of incorporating technology in the classroom. And That’s a Wrap! The only reason I took this class was because Dr. Bork sent out an e-mail to those in the education department strongly recommending it. And those of you who are from Concordia know that what Dr. Bork says is LAW! This class opened my eyes to technological resources that I can use in my future classroom to create a learning environment that engages students. From Audi...

Humiliation and Other Vital Habits. Imagine a society in which humiliation is essential as a rite of passage, as a passport to decency and civilization, as a necessary shedding of hubris.
