Why Breast Cancer Sucks | Run, Molly, Run!

Run, Molly, Run! Why Breast Cancer Sucks. July 13, 2012 at 10:48 pm. I was visiting my parents this week, and we had just sat down to dinner Wednesday evening when my mother received a phone call. She returned to the table in tears. The call had been from a dear friend who just shared that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Bring a friend or a loved one that has fought the good fight so we can all celebrate together. We love our special sisterhood – and we don’t like bullies. You are commenting u...

I suck. | Run, Molly, Run!

Run, Molly, Run! May 17, 2011 at 11:47 pm. I have demoted myself to nearly a 13 minute miler. I am not happy about this. At one point I was closing in on a solid 11 minute mile, but a winter of inconsistent training and weight gain has taken its toll. To quote my friend Jen. Now when I haul ass, it takes two trips. But I got back out on the road this week with my group, and even though it was humbling, I know it’s the only way back. I think I can get back up to speed by the end of the summer. You are com...

Running, Romance, and Reminders | Run, Molly, Run!

Run, Molly, Run! Running, Romance, and Reminders. April 3, 2011 at 8:52 pm. Have you ever woken up next to your spouse and wondered to yourself: Who is this person? What on earth am I doing here? I don’t know if I want to do this anymore. Hopefully, you have enough faith and commitment to realize this moment for what it most surely is: temporary. This weekend I attended a conference, and they ran a video piece that showed a woman running. She had words stacked up around her; sitting on her shoulders ...

Running and Remembering (Again) | Run, Molly, Run!
https://runmollyrun.wordpress.com/2011/04/12/running-and-remembering-again
Run, Molly, Run! Running and Remembering (Again). April 12, 2011 at 11:11 pm. The hardest thing about running? Remembering why I do it. I wrote about this in my previous post, but it is still really hard to accept that maybe – quite possibly – my runs aren’t and will never be about performance or accomplishment. That’s a bitter pill for a woman who cares (perhaps a little too much) about both. Not every activity is a competitive sport – even a competitive sport. Entry filed under: Uncategorized. Address ...

I don’t think Jesus liked Mondays either. | Run, Molly, Run!

Run, Molly, Run! I don’t think Jesus liked Mondays either. March 26, 2013 at 7:14 pm. He does not look happy. It’s Holy Week – the remembrance of the final week preceding Jesus’ death and resurrection – and I like to spend a little time reflecting on it – what Jesus and his disciples were doing, how this piece of history unfolded one day at a time. Is it any wonder a figless fig tree would provoke a hungry man in such a state? And you know how when a day starts out bad, it just seems to keep piling on?
