The Second Time Around. The challenges, joys, frustrations, and rewards of raising two small children, all while living with chronic migraines. Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Milwaukee Area Moms Unite! I am president this year of this wonderful club, Suburban West Newcomers and Neighbors. It is an amazing group of women and I am so grateful to have found this group. I became very involved in the club and the following year became co-chair of Kids Club, with Anne. But this is a whole other post! Once a month w...

Wednesday, January 26, 2011. I was in my junior year at NAU taking my first online class- Creative Writing! When I first started using my e-mail account out of necessity. Just a few short years later, teaching my composition students how to design and create their own sites to showcase their work using Netscape Composer was one of my favorite assignments. Fast forward 12 years. Now we have sophisticated web site builders that don't require much at all- just put in your own pictures and text and voila!

Lovin and Livin Life with All Boys. This year for Halloween we were Power Rangers with our good friends, the Curls. Mama Flo made ALL of the costumes and they turned out really awesome. Katy had to put on Garrett costume because he won't put it on for me. She did great. Go Go Power Rangers! And he is off. Get this costume off of me. Katy tried to smooth talk him but it wasn't working out. I loved how they all turned it. Memories. Garrett really getting into it. Hanging more bills and balloons. Putting it...

Lovin and Livin Life with All Boys. Garrett doesn't like the shower but loved to stick his head under this birds that shoot water. LOL! He loved to try to drink the water. I asked these three handsomes to pose for me and this is the craziness I got. I love it. Garrett did love these little shoot up water things because he love to splash people with it. Papa Hurt Leg won't sit in front of him for some unknown reason, notice how dry he is. Gavin is all about head first for some reason. I'll get you both.

Lovin and Livin Life with All Boys. We have a contest going. Mike, Papa 4 Wheeler, Gavin, Griffin, Kerry, and myself all did a NCAA bracket tournament against each other. There is a whole bag of candy on the line, where you don't have to share anything. This is Gavin making his picks in the beginning. This is very serious stuff, don't you know? The picture turned out as great and wonderful as the day was. We dug and dug until we accidentally went up instead of straight. Whoops! What a memorial day. Both ...

A busy mom discovering God's faithfulness. The Fight Against Perfection. October 26, 2015. Until recently, I hadn’t realized my drive toward perfection was really a problem for me. I mean, I’m not what you call a classic perfectionist. I’m not an oldest child, I did average in school and I often accept things as “good enough.” Or so I thought. After reading several articles on Facebook and in books on perfectionism and a recent Mom to Mom. Eventually it all adds up. It comes bubbling to the surface a...

A busy mom discovering God's faithfulness. The Cost of Perfection. February 20, 2017. February 20, 2017. I know many of you struggle with perfectionism as I do. I’ve already written another blog post about it. But lately, I am beginning to understand a bit more about why we women struggle to be perfect. As a result, women grow up trying to hold up a reality that is far-fetched. We are striving to have perfect homes, perfect relationships, perfect friendships, perfect appearance, perfect body, and per...
