Carrie's Peace Corps Mongolia Adventure Log. Saturday, December 25, 2004. Christmas Day in Mongolia:. We were all quiet this morning.probably some were feeling the drinks they had at the Doctor's party last night. I just wasn't in the mood to talk. It doesn't feel at all like Christmas.but it doesn't feel like any other day either. It's just different. I hope you are all well this Christmas and you are spending whatever vacation time you have wisely. Eat some good food for me! Posted by Carrie at 2:28 PM.

Carrie's Peace Corps Mongolia Adventure Log. Thursday, June 24, 2004. I'm in the city for immunizations, so I thought I'd drop a quick one. I have an awesome host family - 12 year old brother, 2 year old sister, mom and dad. They cook (too much) for me, and we play cards and teach each other our respective languages. The language is very difficult, but I am learning. I have triumphed over the cyrillic alphabet though, and can now read it with relative ease! Posted by Carrie at 1:11 PM. The language is ve...

Carrie's Peace Corps Mongolia Adventure Log. Thursday, September 23, 2004. I am very well, adjusting as well as I think one could to a completely new life. I arrived in town at about 1 am and was greeted by the school's training director and PE Teacher, Bat Baatar and Munkh Bat. They helped me start a fire and get settled in the ger, and my counterpart, Altantuya showed up to say hello. Very friendly people indeed, dressed in suits at 1 in the morning. Everyone is concerned about the American living in a...

If notchances are I’m stranded in the middle of the open Mongolian steppe staring at a broke down car. Again. No problem therewe put a spare on and went back to the city to repair the blown one or buy another partially used one. The only recognizable ...

Carrie's Peace Corps Mongolia Adventure Log. Monday, May 24, 2004. Thanks for the best birthday wishes.I have just returned from a great weekend celebration at the beach. My parents took me to Virginia Beach, where we soaked up the sun, salt and chardonay. Very good all around, especially since I won't be seeing an ocean up close for a while now. We went to a fabulous restaurant called Tau Togs and I stuffed myself. I'll post more later, thanks for the warm thoughts! Posted by Carrie at 8:31 AM. A) my fi...
