Alla insamlade pengar i form av gåvor och sponsring går oavkortat till välgörande ändamål. Lagmedlemmarna står själva för sina egna omkostnader under resan såsom mat, dryck och hemresa. The Mongol Rally startar den 18 juli i London, Barcelona och Milano. Resväg London – Ulan Bator. 2 dagar senare sammanstrålar alla bilarna i Prag, Tjeckien. Därefter står det alla deltagande bilar fritt att välja den rutt som de finner intressant, säker, rolig – eller bekvämast. Resan är inte helt ofarlig då mycket kan hända om man kör 1500-1800 mil på dåliga vägar.

Välgörenhets rallyt från London till Mongoliet! Vart går pengarna till? Meningen med The Mongol Rally är att man skall komma ut på ett äventyr men samtidigt göra en insats för välgörenhet. Historien bakom Mongol Rally. Detta äventyr startade 2003 när några killar inte visste vad de skulle göra en sommar så då fick de den galna idén att köra bil till Mongoliet. Nu har detta äventyr blivit riktigt stort och förra året samlade deltagande lag ihop över 2,5 miljoner kronor till olika välgörenhetsprojekt.
