There’s a choice of hotels and self catering. We do not have a permanent Camp site but there is a temporary one during festival weekends. Striding Arches is a series of Andy Goldsworthy sculptures set in the landscape at Cairnhead in the Dalwhat Glen about 7 miles from Moniaive. There are four arches in total and Cairnhead. Three are on the summits of Benbrack, Colt Hill and Bail Hill, the fourth (pictured here) is at the Byre at Cairnhead and is easily accessible from the forest track. Get your free website from Spanglefish. Brooke Sharkey gig postponed.new project. Brooke is one of those rare magical people you hear once and never forget. Brooke was due to come to the Green Tearoom in Moniaive in September, with her partner Adam Beattie, who is another fine songwriter. We had also booked the wonderful Old Well Theatre in Moffat, but there was a delay in getting posters out so in the end we decided to postpone. There are plenty more of Brookes videos on YouTube.well worth a look.

HELLO AND WELCOME TO GLENCAIRN GAZETTE. The Glencairn Gazette is the community newspaper which is produced and delivered free to every household in the parish of Glencairn and Tynron. It comes out every two months and covers issues affecting the community and reports on local events. Produced and distributed by a team of volunteers the Gazette is self-funding. 700 issues are printed and articles, comments and letters are encouraged from the local community. Competitions and prizes in every issue.
