Moonpies4U

Sunday, May 25, 2014. Come with me: I've moved! It's taken me a while to post this, but I've moved! I have a new fancy website over at A World In My Oven. There I rant more about food traditions, countries and their festivities and of course, about recipes. Rather than the posting here and there I've been doing on this blog, I update it weekly and I'm trying very hard to keep it up. Anyway, if you're interested in more delicious recipes I've been conjuring, please check out my new website! 2 In a smaller...

Moonpies4U: January 2013

http://moonpies4u.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Working in the snow! The first recipe of the year! And for that I choose my number one muffin recipe. A few weeks ago I made it again and took the muffins out into the snow to make some pictures (how often do you get the chance to do that? 275 grams self-raising flour. 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda. 100 grams caster sugar. 75 ml sunflower oil. 150 grams (Greek) yogurt. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 200-300 grams dried fruits of your preference. 4 Line a cupcake tin with cupca...

Moonpies4U: Buttermilk scones

http://moonpies4u.blogspot.com/2013/05/buttermilk-scones.html

Wednesday, May 8, 2013. There's nothing better than sitting inside in front of a warm oven baking away on these days when the sun finally decides to pop out and the weather is finally warm enough to go out without a coat. Well, you know what I mean. Outside, no matter how warm it is, is still a whole lot better when you have something deliciously home-made waiting for you to get hungry. Behold: a recipe for evil buttermilk scones! 12 large/24 small scones. 280 grams flour (2 1/4 cup). If you're not a fan...

Moonpies4U: May 2012

http://moonpies4u.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 6, 2012. Because that’s what it is. It’s chocolate cake with peanuts in it and a gooey filling that is just HEAVEN especially when you eat it warm! I’m going to have to make this recipe again if it were only for the snicker filling. The gooey filling was also long gone before the cake was ever finished. I suspect my mom. She’s dieting and you know how people are when they start dieting! Chocolate cake with peanuts. 175 grams caster sugar. 50 grams cacao powder. 3/4 cups marshmallow fluff.

Moonpies4U: July 2012

http://moonpies4u.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 1, 2012. I quickly made these for my family birthday party. I still had some extra lemons from the Lemon Sorbet. I made that same day and decide lemon cupcakes would be a brilliant idea! 125 grams soft sugar. 125 grams self-rising flour. Zest of 2 lemons. 1 Beat the butter until soft. Then add the sugar and beat again until fluffy. Lastly add the lemon zest. 2 Sift the self-rising flour through the batter in 3-5 additions. 3 Beat the eggs lightly and mix them with the yogurt. Nothing is bett...

Moonpies and Dragonflies | From Carolina to Vietnam to grow our family

From Carolina to Vietnam to grow our family. December 14, 2007. I changed the title again. Posted by moonpies under Uncategorized. And I guess it might happen again. Just thought I would acknowledge it. December 14, 2007. Posted by moonpies under adoption. Yesterday was a pretty momentous day in this journey. We had the most pleasant trip – chatting about Christmas, our lives, and this whole process in general. About 4 blocks from the fingerprinting office in Charlotte, NC. December 7, 2007. moonpies and cherry slurpies

Friday, September 3, 2010. Seattle: the sunniest city with the rainiest rep. Seattle wasn't quite the foggy, dark-walk-on-a-poetic-pier romantic place I thought it would be based on certain movies involving Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. Which didn't seem an appealing way to enjoy the fine weather, though it did look like fun), and of course Alki Beach in West Seattle, which you can access by water taxi and wile away easy hours in the heat. And on a completely different note.I have taken two different pictu...

Moon Pies and Moon Cakes

Moon Pies and Moon Cakes. Following the adventures of a single mom and her daughters. Friday, September 11, 2009. Busier days, harder to blog. Wow - and I thought that when I put up that post in May that I was going to get back into putting in updates often. That obviously didn't happen. Summer was a whirlwind of activity.and now we are in September and a new school year. Ellie is now at my favorite age - three. I LOVE THREE! Our children are learning so much more than we did at the same age. Amazing!
