I note the anniversary and I’m sure the other modellers who recreate the Galloway lines’ heydays will also bear it in mind as they work on their layouts. It’s turned out allright, given I’ve never got on with plasticard much before. Rainwater goods would finish it off nicely. It would have been nice to have this mechanically finished as a nod to ...

Best in Show | Yeoton Wharf

The building of a 3mm scale mixed gauge model railway. November 5, 2012. Just got back from exhibiting at the High Wycombe MRC show. Yeoton Wharf was judged as best in the show. I feel well chuffed and feel all the hard work has been worth it. Also it was good to see a 3mm scale layout recognised in this way. From → Yeoton Wharf. Brian Hattwell NSW Australia. Metropolitan tank progress | Yeoton Wharf
https://nsalzman5853.wordpress.com/2014/01/06/metropolitan-tank-progress
The building of a 3mm scale mixed gauge model railway. January 6, 2014. I have now virtually finished the body for the metropolitan tank. I now need to fill in the various lumps and bumps and get around to painting it. The chassis is slowly being run in using a rolling road and my continuous run test track. The loco is intended to supplement the early Beattie well tank for the early period of the schedule in conjunction with the mainly Bristol and Exeter stock on the broad gauge. From → Locomotives.

Metropolitan Tank-finale | Yeoton Wharf
https://nsalzman5853.wordpress.com/2014/03/20/metropolitan-tank-finale
The building of a 3mm scale mixed gauge model railway. March 20, 2014. Below are two pictures of the finished model. It is painted in the late Beattie livery, used between1874 and 1878, of Purple Brown. The boiler bands are homemade transfers with black and white lining. The lining on the tank sides was scribed through the top layer of paint to expose the undercoat which gives a reasonable representation of the fine lines involved. From → Locomotives. Happy New Year folks. I think last year came out net positive, but I’m glad to see the back of it just the same. Forecast is for another sparse year on the modelling front for me, but I hope you all do better – and keep letting me know how you’re getting on to help me stay in touch and stay inspired.🙂.
