Lula and Leni: Hurricane
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2011/09/hurricane.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Saturday, September 10, 2011. Yeah yeah I know the hubbub of the hurricane is way over but I have to share our adventures of that lovely weekend. First of all we were very lucky. No power out. No trees lost. Just a bit of a chimney leak which I had kinda forgotten about from last years rainy summer. PS The Zucchini Bread was awesome :). The damages to our neighborhood was minor. Our walking path was obstructed by a big fallen tree and our playing field became a pond.

http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. 26 make a new recipe every week #1 of 52. 26 is make a new recipe every week. Well, 32 weeks have past and I definitely have not done a new recipe every week. However, if we change this goal to mean "do 52 new recipes in the next year" then I will be all set! Just yesterday I did three new recipes and here is #1. Zucchini Verrines with Tahini Dressing. 1 tsp lemon juice. 1/2 clove garlic, minced (1/2 tsp.). 2 medium zucchini, coarsely grated.

Lula and Leni: Labor Day in DC
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2011/09/labor-day-in-dc.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Thursday, September 8, 2011. Labor Day in DC. My love and I spent Labor Day in our nations capital. We were celebrating a three day weekend and a year of togetherness. It was a truly lovely day of city exploring together. If you can't read the quote it says:. When I came to college I was an adolescent nut.someone like me should not have been accepted at a serious institution. I spent my time growing up and doing enough work to get by.". Lula and Leni: November 2010
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. A feast for many from ages 5 to 50-something. My parents grin looking at the spread. Plenty of options for kiddos but mac n' cheese still wins the prize for the best dish! Games were played by all before and after dinner. The table was decorated with a collection of beautiful fragrant things found in the yard courtesy of the kids. And over a fabulous meal and plenty of wine the parents swapped stories. Wednesday, November 24, 2010. With the he...

Lula and Leni: April 2011
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Saturday, April 30, 2011. The wedding planning is coming right along. We are now doing the fun stuff like wine tasting and center piece planting. Here we are last weekend at my parents house playing in the dirt and enjoying some fine (but cheap! Thursday, April 28, 2011. Over easter weekend my family started talking about genetics. Did you know that the ability to curl your tongue and do star-trek hands is genetic? I was the only one who could not really curl my tongue!

Lula and Leni: September 2010
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Thursday, September 30, 2010. This summer was an excellent year for butterflies. My purple and yellow butterfly bushes grew enormous and thus attracted many beautiful colors. Here are just a few up close pictures of the delicate creatures. I attempted to capture the bush with more than 12 butterflies on it at one time but the camera couldn't do the beauty justice. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. So here she is sporting her Pup'sters, my grown up girl, Leni. Labels: 30 by 30.

Lula and Leni: May 2010
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Sunday, May 30, 2010. My little garden plot out back is going to be FULL of tomatoes this year! I decided to buy one plant of three different varieties of tomatoes so that I will have a great blend. There are also some onions, chives, and a pepper in there too! The expanded garden is between my house and my neighbors. I give my neighbor and all of his power tools all the credit for making this plot and planting all these veggies. My job is to water! Lula and Leni: August 2011
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. The truth is, I hate making pie crusts. I generally make everything myself to avoid the trans fats of processed things but I almost always buy pie crusts. So, I decided to completely forget about the pie crust and use potatoes (my loves favorite veggie). I don't ever cook with a recipe but here is the gist of what I did. Don't tell your wife how to slice the potatoes more than once :). For the Love of Cooking. Sunday, August 21, 2011. Turns ou...

Lula and Leni: Found Object Art
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2011/09/found-object-art.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Wednesday, September 7, 2011. One of our favorite pastimes on the Bay is to stroll along the shore line and look for stuff. Wood stuff. Metal stuff. Glass stuff. If we like it then it comes home, goes into the shed, and someday becomes art. This past weekend my mom hosted a junk art day for us and it was fun! The pizza oven area became our studio. Here is my love with her little creature. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jim, Melissa, Lucy and Moose the cat.

Lula and Leni: July 2010
http://lulaonlaurel.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Our lovely life on Laurel Street. Saturday, July 24, 2010. Lula and I had fun this weekend at another Rally show. During our first day Lula was a super star and got a perfect score of 100! However, someone else also got a 100, and they did the course faster than me, so we settled for second place. During our second event Lula was almost perfect and scored a 99, which earned her first place! Here we are getting our blue ribbon! Sunday, July 18, 2010. Saturday, July 17, 2010. Thursday, July 15, 2010. We ar...
