Feed A Monk: (36) Vultures
http://feedamonk.blogspot.com/2008/07/36-vultures.html
Blogging for the Sera Je Monastery's Food Fund during the 24 hour Day of Blogs,. July 26, 2008 beginning at 09:00 EST. Many people I know dislike vultures. On campus (University at Buffalo) this year, there were 5 or 6 Turkey vultures living on Clemens Hall. They would fly and glide from the 10 story building – just magnificent. That's a great shot! Coming Out of the Trees (excerpts from my therapy journal). Recovering memories of sexual abuse, releasing shame, healing addictions, learning to trust. Photos by Martin Chen. These are the books I have read recently or am currently reading. If a book makes it onto this page, you can assume that I recommend it. Only if I like a book will I finish reading it, keep it in my personal library or mention it here. Black Beauty (1877) by Anna Sewell. Gifts from the Sea (1955) by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. 8212; Thi...

Culture is not your friend. Know your dose. 8220;A man without God is like a fish without a bicycle.”. Found on the men’s room wall, Larry Blake’s Pub, Berkeley, 1977. The Sufi’s say that every story has seven levels of meaning. The above quote is from a book I have been reading again, Robert Anton Wilson’s Cosmic Trigger 1. What happens if we dig a little deeper? What if the locale was reversed and we look at the metaphor from where the bicycle is designed to work? The obvious answer is that the decease...

I hope to increase awareness and compassion for those of us with mental illness. Click on the tab that you want. Scroll down to posts to read. Please, if you are new here, READ THIS FIRST! Culture is not your friend. Know your dose. Carving Out What Is Not Needed. Here is the prompt from December 11th in the fabulous #reverb10 challenge. This one comes from Sam Davidson. 11 Things. What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life? Okay, here’s my list –. Shelves full of unread books. T-shirts I never wear. A broken A/C fan in my car. Stagnant items on my to do list. I suspect that the cause i...
