The New Adventures Of Arthur: July 2010
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Saturday, 17 July 2010. This was a bit of a doddle to do actually. First I drained the oil out of the box - not sure if it should have been "pond green" though. Then from inside the car, removed the gearlever, the clutch linkage, speedo drive, and the earth cable, etc. With a jack under the gearbox crossmember, undo the four bolts that hold it to the chassis legs. The gearbox just pulled off the propshaft. This is going to take a bit of cleaning. Sunday, 11 July 2010.

The New Adventures Of Arthur: July 2009
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Monday, 20 July 2009. First Job Done, but any idiot can pull something apart. For the past few weeks I've been stripping out the inside of the car, to prevent damaging anything when the major work starts, and to get a good look at the car to see what needs doing. Here's some photos of current status, and closeups of the holy floor. Looking through the back seat into the boot. Both nearside doors with the door cards removed. Yup, daylight through the floor. I found this 2 shi...

The New Adventures Of Arthur: June 2012
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Sunday, 17 June 2012. Removing Propshaft and Emptying Fuel Tank (an overdue update). There's been little done in the way of work on the car since last year. I could bandy around the usual excuses, but the fact is that when I have the opportunity to jump on with the car, motivation is thin on the ground, and I'd rather put it off for another night to relax on the sofa in front of the telly. Lubed up the bolts holding the prop to the differential. Then it came of pretty easily.

The New Adventures Of Arthur: October 2010
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Sunday, 24 October 2010. Metal turns into rust, then into thin air. Today I removed the floor patch under the driver-side floor. It's not a good feeling to find yet more holy metal, but it has to be done. Wednesday, 6 October 2010. Book - "Original Morris Minor" by Ray Newell. Excellent reference for achieving originality, and finding out about the history of the Minor in general. Saturday, 2 October 2010. Removing the Offside Front Suspension. Despite removing the nearside ...

The New Adventures Of Arthur: June 2009
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Friday, 19 June 2009. Registering the car with the DVLA. In 1983, the DVLA set a deadline for all cars to register with their vehicle database and for a new type of logbook (v5). As my car has been sat in a barn since 1976, it missed the deadline which means the DVLA have no record of it, and until its registered I can't get it taxed, tested, or insured. To apply for the original registration, I had to ask for a representative from the Morris Minor Owners Club.

The New Adventures Of Arthur: Slow, slow, progress...
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2011/06/slow-slow-progress.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Thursday, 2 June 2011. Slow, slow, progress. Since the last update, I've honestly been doing stuff on the car! Not much I admit, but it's been stuff. Granted, my efforts on the car have been pretty minimal, but I did stick at it even through the epic chilliness that was last winter. According to the high tech climate device that my Nana got free with a bunch of chat she ordered from the Betterware catalogue, I was fettling with the car even in sub-zero temperatures. I've sta...

The New Adventures Of Arthur: Back on the car
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2013/02/back-on-car.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Tuesday, 12 February 2013. Back on the car. On the Morris Minor Owners forum. Kindly offered an old Murex torch assembly, for nothing. It's way better quality than the original Sealey torch, and I'm well chuffed with it. Still, I persevered, but then I was lucky enough to get a large, full argon cylinder - free! Blah blah blah - where I'm up to. Look at the middle one - ignore the other two. Plenty of room for improvement, but it's penetrating well, and not blowing through.

The New Adventures Of Arthur: Removing the Nearside Front Suspension
http://newadventuresofarthur.blogspot.com/2010/08/removing-nearside-front-suspension.html
The New Adventures Of Arthur. Thursday, 12 August 2010. Removing the Nearside Front Suspension. The chassis legs need sorting and to see what's what and make the repairs (whatever they may be) the front suspension needs to come off. This week, I have been mostly tackling the nearside. The Haynes book said remove the tie bar first, but the bolt just wouldnt shift, so I'm going to come back to it later. Great start. With everything pretty much off that needs to be, I removed the fixings that held the front...
