Morsels and Musings: 2013 food challenges
http://morselsandmusings.blogspot.com/2013/01/2013-food-challenges.html
Tuesday, 1 January 2013. My attempts at 2012's food challenges was beyond dismal, and while I have some decent excuses. Instead of starting from scratch I think I'm just going to bring most of 2012's challenges into 2013. One or two items will be switched out for various reasons. For instance, it's going to be quite impossible to make a week of Wings. When it turns out the husband doesn't like chicken wings. Strange, but true. I'll just switch that week to Chicken. A week of recipes based on. What do you...
Morsels and Musings: shaved zucchini, mint, chilli & feta salad
http://morselsandmusings.blogspot.com/2013/01/shaved-zucchini-mint-chilli-feta-salad.html
Saturday, 5 January 2013. Shaved zucchini, mint, chilli and feta salad. Jamie Oliver is responsible for showing me that zucchini can be eaten raw. I can’t believe I never realised it before, but I was watching his one of his 30 minute meals episodes and he started shaving raw zucchini into a salad. How had I never figured this out before? Jamie, you are amazing. Really. Shaved Zucchini, Mint, Chilli and Feta Salad. 1 small red chilli, finely chopped. 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh mint. This Week's Po...
Morsels and Musings: sahlep, salep, sahlab
http://morselsandmusings.blogspot.com/2006/08/sahlep-salep-sahlab.html
Sunday, 13 August 2006. Sahlep, salep, sahlab. I first discovered sahlep in my final year of high school. After a cold day foraging through the second hand clothes at Glebe Markets, we crossed the road to the Badde Manors Café. Where Emily suggested I try this warm, creamy drink. I fell in love. It was also the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Ancient recipe. Serves 2. 1 teaspoon sahlep powder. 1½ cups milk. 1 Place all ingredients in a saucepan. 2 Boil, whisking continuously, for 2 – 3 minutes.
Morsels and Musings: kiwifruit & lemongrass slushie
http://morselsandmusings.blogspot.com/2009/01/kiwifruit-lemongrass-slushie.html
Tuesday, 6 January 2009. Kiwifruit and lemongrass slushie. This recipe works best when you use over-ripe kiwi fruit, since the sweetness levels are high and the seeds have a delicious nuttiness. It’s a great way of using up excess fruit. You can either use lemon juice or, for an adult version, lemon vodka. I prefer the vodka version to be honest. Kiwifruit and Lemongrass Slushie. Anna’s very own recipe. Makes 2. 90ml lemon vodka (or lemon juice). 90ml lemongrass syrup (see note). 1 cup crushed ice. In Ch...
Morsels and Musings: afghani eggplant with yoghurt
http://morselsandmusings.blogspot.com/2006/11/afghani-eggplant-with-yoghurt.html
Sunday, 26 November 2006. Afghani eggplant with yoghurt. In my quest to cook my way around the world like many fellow food bloggers (such as Margarita. I have discovered some very interesting recipes. I recently stumbled across some Afghani recipes and one vegetarian dish that immediately caught my eye was the. Or Eggplant with Yoghurt. Even Jonas, who detests eggplant, said it was more than palatable. Anna’s version of a commonly distributed internet recipe. Serves 4 as entrée or 2 as main. 2 Heat oil i...

Ordinary Encounters: September 2010

Experiencing God, not in the miraculous, but as we go about our days in ordinary ways. Wednesday, September 15, 2010. My Sheep Hear My Voice. There is only one voice to follow, the voice of the one who knows us, who knew us before we were born. That was made clear centuries ago when he said in John 10:27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. New Years Day - 1985. There is nothing that sets me apart from any one else. Ordinary Encounters: November 2009
http://ordinaryencounters.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Experiencing God, not in the miraculous, but as we go about our days in ordinary ways. Friday, November 20, 2009. Then I remember what Jesus said. I wonder if it was in the fall that He spoke those words to his disciples. I can picture them sitting around the fire in the evening, the cool of the fall evening, anticipating the coming of winter. Looking ahead without knowing that they were looking for His death, and ultimately, their own. Let not your heart be troubled. Thursday, November 19, 2009. Finally...

Ordinary Encounters: To Know Him
http://ordinaryencounters.blogspot.com/2014/11/to-know-him.html
Experiencing God, not in the miraculous, but as we go about our days in ordinary ways. Friday, November 14, 2014. Does all of her struggling, her prolonged suffering change my view of God? Certainly not, although at times, I question how a life of faith could slowly be eroded away by the aging process. Rather than changing my view,I find it's much like reading the book of Job. He could not understand what was happening, but his lack of understanding did not change the nature of God. Phil, 3:10 KJV. There...

Morselsandmore
Saturday, August 4, 2012. What a great way to come back to my blog after such a long absence. Yesterday I helped make and serve dinner at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia! The interesting thing is, both of the projects I've been involved with since starting have to do with food! We planned our meal of chicken Parmesan, roasted red-skinned potatoes, green beans with toasted almonds, meatless meatballs, sauteed zucchini, cucumber salad, peanut butter pie and apple crisp and brought much of it cook...

Unique Cake and Cupcake Creations. Sunday, August 14, 2011. It's been a while! I was just looking at my blog and realized how long it's been since I updated it! For the guests I did cupcakes in 3 flavors: white vanilla with pink buttercream, red velvet with cream cheese and chocolate orange apricot with limoncello frosting. For the bride and groom I did a simple red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, covered with white fondant and decorated with the bride's flowers - stargazer lilies. And I made cup...

Sunday, 24 March 2013. The best thing i ever made. I have been hinting at some "health" issues lately. But, now that this bun is safely out of the oven, I am happy to share that Jonas and I are proud parents of little Esther. Who was born 10 days early. At the beginning of March. Given this news, I hope you can forgive my intermittent blogging in recent times, and be patient with my almost certain lack of posts over the coming months. Dreamt up by Anna (Morsels and Musings).
