I started my career in journalism working for the BBC Monitoring Service in Reading, England, editing the weekly publication Summary of World Broadcasts , and writing for Newsfile, a BBC wire service. From the BBC I moved to Swiss Radio International (SRI), where I quickly learned radio skills, producing and delivering news bulletins and current affairs programmes. At the Swiss news agency sda I produced and edited news stories in English for Swiss media and international firms in 2012.

Born in Glasgow, I spent the first 23 years of my life in Scotland’s finest Victorian city, attending Glasgow University where I took an MA in French and Russian.
