my free moment: my confession
http://jillbotham.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-confession.html
Every day things, recent thoughts, rare ponderings. Thursday, July 23, 2015. I have a confession to make. And it has to be made quickly before word gets out that I'm a hypocrite. Honesty is my forte. So here goes:. I went to see Magic Mike XXL. Most of you won't even bat an eye at that. But a handful of you. you know the married friends who I questioned for seeing the first Magic Mike? Remember those conversations about respecting your husbands, blah, blah, blah? He was the only thing that carried this f...
my free moment: November 2014
http://jillbotham.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Every day things, recent thoughts, rare ponderings. Thursday, November 06, 2014. Not really. Things are eerily staying the same around here. But that recent time change has totally thrown me for a loop. I feel like I'm ready for bed by dinnertime. It feels SO late by then. Tonight we waited for, what seemed like an eternity, for Daniel's guitar teacher to arrive for a lesson. He arrived in the concealment of deep, dark night. at 6pm. my free moment: October 2014
http://jillbotham.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Every day things, recent thoughts, rare ponderings. Friday, October 31, 2014. This is the first Halloween in.ever. that I've been home all night to hand out candy. Other years were broken up with some sort of activity or taking the kids out to trick-or-treat. I always left a bucket of candy on the porch as we ventured out. Nothing extravagant but just enough for whoever might wander by our house. But then I wised up to the fact that one little rascal probably came and emptied the whole bowl into his bag.
my free moment: December 2014
http://jillbotham.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Every day things, recent thoughts, rare ponderings. Saturday, December 20, 2014. Our extended family agreed, many years ago, to cut out the gift giving and simplify things by letting the kids draw names for Pollyanna. My family has to buy two gifts to exchange. Two. And I've put it off until tonight. My boys (including Matthew) headed out for an evening of Christmas shopping and cheer. I made a surprise stop by Starbucks and treated us all to peppermint hot chocolate and then put my secret plan in action.

She LOVES it and has done great with the transition. I was able to sneak in her room during nap time and here is what I found! Needless to say, I think is she is sleeping well without the outside railing! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What We've Been Up To. Other blogs to read. Look who is sleeping in a big girl bed!

my free moment: that time I threw my phone in a pool
http://jillbotham.blogspot.com/2015/06/that-time-i-threw-my-phone-in-pool.html
Every day things, recent thoughts, rare ponderings. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. That time I threw my phone in a pool. Hours before, or maybe minutes before, I had admitted how I felt addicted to my phone. Over the past few weeks while my boys were preoccupied. I found myself, with phone in hand, habitually checking Facebook and email, Facebook and email, Facebook and email. Since my pool host and myself are less than stellar chefs, there was no rice available for the immediate first aid. It was like I was li...

Motherhood and Miscellany
January 27, 2018. In October, I went out of town for a weekend by myself. My husband watched the kids, and I booked a room in a lovely hotel in Milwaukee for a little bit of a vacation before the arrival of our little guy. I spent the weekend mostly reading, sleeping, and eating delicious food while it was still hot. I had no idea what was going on for most of the Mass, but I loved it. It was beautiful and reverent and kind of indescribable if you’ve never seen it in person. That was the first Sunday of ...

Motherhood and more – Telling it like it is.
Telling it like it is. Talking to your child about the refugee crisis. Yesterday, my 5 year old came home from school and asked me, “Mommy, do you know what a refugee is? 8221; Needless to say, I wasn’t prepared for this question.
