Awards and Past Shows. Gary Spetz Montana Workshop Review. On 7/6/2016 10:37:19 PM. I first learned about Gary through his PBS series " Painting Wild Places. When it was broadcast here in Anchorage about 10 years ago. I really admired his painting/teaching style, his results, and so made a mental note to take his workshop some day. I recently attended his Montana Workshop. June 20-24, in Flathead Lake near Kalispell, MT. This is a truly enjoyable experience that I recommend highly to all AKWS members!
