They Came to the Mountains: ROLAND
http://theycametothemountains.blogspot.com/p/roland.html
They Came to the Mountains. The earliest spelling/misspelling of the name Roland that I found was Rolen. I found it on documents that showed our ancestor Charles Roland/Rowland/Rolen on the lists for soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War. Information on this page and all others will take into consideration the misspellings, change in spellings, spellings based on how they sounded to the recorder, and errors in transcriptions. Married Lemuel Theo Fuller. Married Nora E. Belle Anglin. Note: to disti...

They Came to the Mountains: SILVER
http://theycametothemountains.blogspot.com/p/silver.html
They Came to the Mountains. William Bailus married Nancy Ellender Silver. At any rate, we are descended from both John, and one of Henry's children named George. At the time Nancy married, the names were sometimes spelled differently. There were three spellings that evolved from the Roland name: Roland, Rowland, and Rolland. We have "cousins" with all 3 spellings. But Nancy was also a Silver descendant with a long heritage of Baptist preachers in her heritage. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This Is The Place.
