Tin Man, Tin Man

Tin Man, Tin Man. Would you even take this heart of stone? Song of the Month: July. This month's prompt was "finish a song"- i.e. take something that's been sitting around unfinished for some time and just get it done. I had been hoping to possibly figure out a couple other seeds that I'd been unsuccessfully chipping away at, but then Psalm 46. The Psalm has a refrain that happens a couple times:. The LORD of hosts is with us;. The God of Jacob is our fortress. Song of the Month: June. There Was A Time.

Tin Man, Tin Man: On Twilight

http://www.mountainmouthmusic.blogspot.com/2011/12/on-twilight.html

Tin Man, Tin Man. Would you even take this heart of stone? A few months ago I resolved to read the first Twilight. Book, to see for myself what all the fuss was about. The first couple chapters were slow going (also, since I'm semi-resolved to only spend time reading it if I've done some devotions that day). The melodramatic inner life of an angsty teenager. But once elements of plot started to take shape, it made for somewhat easier reading. Desolation hit me with crippling strength.". But I still feel ...

Tin Man, Tin Man. Would you even take this heart of stone? Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners. Time for the 2nd Annual January New Song post. This might be it for the year, who knows. Sometimes we write new music to old hymns that have fallen out of common practice as a way to bring them back into circulation and remind us of the truths that they express in a particular way. Tin Man, Tin Man: 15

http://www.mountainmouthmusic.blogspot.com/2014/02/15.html

Tin Man, Tin Man. Would you even take this heart of stone? My father passed away fifteen years ago today. It was a Tuesday. I was a freshman in college, a few hours away by car. I had gotten a call in the middle of the night on Sunday and got picked up Monday morning by some family friends, so I was able to get home and go to the hospital and everything. Lately I feel like life has been more disappointment than joy. More fear than freedom. I feel like I've lost touch with the transformative power...Which...

Life as i observe it. Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Last night was the Iowa Caucus, the first caucus or primary of this election season. The top three finishers were Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul. I learned today that John McCain endorsed Mitt Romney. It must feel really good to have the support of the man who lost to Obama last time. I wonder, though, which Mitt Romney. I also learned that the top 3 finishers were awarded the same number. Of delegates, which puts them on somewhat equal footing.

Life as i observe it. Thursday, August 25, 2011. Today i told a coworker he is easy prey for a tyrannical government. 8 hours later, and i'm still laughing about that. the things that come out of my mouth these days. He is, though. On my drive to work today i thought too much about the un-merits of school zones. Remember that experiment that was done on college students several decades ago? So it is with school zone guards. Life as i observe it. Monday, February 7, 2011. A parking lot that i'm allowed to park in. A 30 minute lunch break, every day, PLUS two fifteen minute breaks. People who say "you can ask me any questions! Also, people who are nice. A supply room with no construction paper, or googly eyes. Conversations that take place in quiet voices. The Adventures of The HandyGraham. Friday, February 11, 2011. Remember that day I got hit by a truck and a train? So, I almost died yesterday. Yeah - just like that. Almost never got to see my family or friends again. Almost never got to see my house again, play my guitar again, drink a beer again, flirt with a girl again, rescue a dog again.
