Mountain Stitches

Sunday, November 10, 2013. A Quick Finish from a Scrap of Velour. I found this scrap of velour and immediately saw a soft, cozy scarf! It was a simple finish of sewing down the one side, matching the pattern of course, and then adding a fancy trim to the ends. This fabric drapes so easily, is a good, heavy weight so won't go flying around when wearing and will match my coat! Chica was checking out the new scarf! Cross Stitch Ready to be Finished. I finally have a few minutes to post some of the recent it...

Mountain Stitches: September 2010

http://mountainstitches.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 29, 2010. This design comes from the September 2010 Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine. The chart has three segments and I chose to do just two since I could only find a dual, not a triple frame. I took Aida 11 and dyed one piece lime green and the other tangerine. The rit dye website has an easy method for dying fabric with a quick set in the microwave! No more rinsing in water with salt - the high temps in the microwave set the color in under 2 minutes. Mountain Stitches: March Finish

http://mountainstitches.blogspot.com/2011/03/march-finish.html

Thursday, March 31, 2011. This cross stitch finish was started years ago and finally finished today. It is finished as a pin keep and I added a "fun fur" yarn to the edges. Mountain Stitches: November 2010

http://mountainstitches.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. November Finish for OPAM. This cross stitch turkey is a Lizzie Kate design - the November #F44 Stamp. I used 28 count linen and finished it as a three dimensional foam box. The foam form measures 4 by 4 inches. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oh Sweet Valentine Pin Pillow. Mountain Stitches: December 2010

http://mountainstitches.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 31, 2010. December Finish for OPAM. This cross stitch design is from NotForgotten Farm. I tea dyed the aida cloth to make it look antique. I finished it as a flat fold with Makower fabric on the back and a gold trim on the top. It will stay on my table until it is time to decorate for Valentine's Day since it is more a "winter design" than a Christmas one. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oh Sweet Valentine Pin Pillow. Mountain Stitches: October 2010

http://mountainstitches.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 31, 2010. This "Salem Witch" design comes from the Primitive Needle. I hand dyed the Aida 11 to give it a mottled look and used DMC Variegated 4120 for the letters and numbers. On the back of the flat fold I used a black cotton with white cats. I found a funky trim for the top. The piece measures 7" x 5 1/2". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oh Sweet Valentine Pin Pillow. Happy In Quilting: Welcome to OPAM 2010

http://happyinquilting.blogspot.com/2010/01/welcome-to-opam-2010.html

Friday, January 8, 2010. Welcome to OPAM 2010. The One Project A Month (OPAM) Challenge 2010. The idea of the “One Project A Month Challenge". Is pretty simple . To try to finish at least ONE. We understand that sometimes life interferes with our best laid plans. We also realise that some projects are meant to be long-term and have a LOT of work involved, like a quilt or a cross-stitch. The main aim of the OPAM Challenge. However, as May Britt. An email to let us know. Your name will stay on the list...
