Tuesday, September 20. This weekend, my family and I saw the US Women's National Team (soccer) play Canada. They tied the match, but it was a good game and really really fun to watch! Our seats were in the 12th row, right behind the US Women's bench. It was pretty incredible. Here are some photos. (The team plays their next game on Thursday, 8pm Pacific time, ESPN3.com.) Brownies topped with cookie dough (eh.not crazy about the particular recipe I found), and this evening (since I'm stuck at home getting over sinusitis/bronchitis anyway), I baked a very unique apple cake. The result? The finished cake after a visit to the powder room. 4-6 medium baking apples. 1/2 lemon; juiced and peel grated. 1 tsp baking powder.
