She is probably best known for her role as Karen in the movie From Here To Eternity, for which she won an Oscar. She also played the role of Anna in Rogers and Hammerstein’s “The King and I”. So, by looking at the date of my last post, it would appear that I have been gone for almost 7 years. Not that I ever really left, just took an overly long hiatus. He is probably best known for his role on Gilligan’s Island, where he played Thurston III, and for being the voice of Mr. Magoo. Mr Backus suffered for several years with Parkinson’s Disease.
