May 17, 2012 - Plastering and Door Frames. While the skilled builders of the village are plastering the inside and outside of the building, Aidan has built the door frames and is fixing them into place. April 26, 2012 - The Roof Structure. Aidan has prepared and built the roof structure on the ground. It's the left and right hand section - the middle section is left open yet, as it will get a second story. All that's left to do now is lifting the roof up . August 18, 2011 - The Walls.

Do you speak English? In these modern times, it is more and more important for the local people from rural african areas to master the English language. Speaking English allows them access to better education, better jobs, a better understanding of what is going on in their country today and how it affects them. The childrens lessons are structured in a much more playful way, to include a lot of games. This helps them to remember their vocab in a fun way.

In 2010, the community of Lubanzi decided that they need a new Creche - an early learning centre for the pre-school children. Within the village, they raised a substantial amout of money and all together started building the Creche. Sonntag, 23. Mai 2010. Baustelle Manzamnyama und Fussball-WM. Und Südafrika ist immerhin der Gastgeber, folglich ist ganz Südafrika aufgeregt für den bevorstehenden Event. Und Aidan kam mit der grossartigen Idee, wie wir die Dorfbevölkerung wieder mehr fürs Projekt begeistern und auf uns aufmerksam machen können. Nämlich: wir haben einen Beamer und alle zugehörigen elektronischen Geräte gekauft. (Nochmals herzlichen Dank, Frau Gouw-Beck - die Dorfleute werden es liiiiiiieben! Das neue Dach von vorne.

Monday, 15 June 2009. Hey everybody, we are hitting interesting times here in Manzamnyama village. Aidan has successfully fixed the beetle while I was away at a conference, so finally we've got wheels again! But that's not all the good news. The last meeting with the project committee was also very fruitful. Not only were we informed that the thatching we ordered will soon be ready, but, they also found a translator for us! Saturday, 31 January 2009. If it isn't, well . we'll have to figure something out. But we certainly need a pump at one stage or another. Still, now it's the rainy season (apparently) and I don't want to imagine what this place looks like in the dry season – or where we get our water from! I once walked down to the river just to get two buckets of water for a shower, and I tell you, it's a hell of a walk, down a steep hill overgrown with thick grass, and then, all the way back up!
