Factoring Quadratics-In my own words. March 11, 2010, 10:58 pm. Filed under: Math-How to's. Factoring a Quadratic equation:. Make sure you have the correct setup for a quadratic equation. It should have the setup of y=ax. Find all of your factor pairs of your c value. Choose the factor pair that adds up to your bx value. After you have chosen the correct factor pair to use, add the first factor to x in your first binomial, add the remaining factor to x in your second binomial. Factor pairs of 6: 1*6, 2*3.
