Parents and Students,. This should be a relatively short post. I said so much in the last one. We had auditions last week, the kids did great! This will be lots of fun. We are going to start singing the songs in class right away, and begin the rehearsals in the MPR on October 17th. The rehearsals will be in the afternoon, generally, from 1:45 - 2:45. The students will be missing Social Studies during that time, but is is a social studies based play that covers a ton of standards. In Speaking and Listening.

Welcome Back from Break. It's field trip time! All of the fifth grade classes will be going to the Castaic Water Agency this week as well. That is a half day trip, so no need to pack a sack lunch. We will have lunch at school as usual. My class will go on Thursday. Due to the field trips, there will be no reading or math rotations this week. We have been working on Writers Workshop the two weeks before the break but ran out of time. We will finish those this week and change the due date to this Friday.

Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break. I hope everyone had a wonderful time. I am full and ready for work. We are back to full schedule and homework this week, now that the Living History Day is completed. I, for one, am happy to be back on schedule. Before I get into the work for the week, I just want to say thank you to the wonderful volunteers for Living History Day. That was a long day and was certainly not possible without the volunteers. I have been looking at the calendar and I want to warn you that the end of the trimester will be here before you know it. The last day of the grading period is October 30th. That is exactly three weeks from today. Any work not turned in at that point will be a zero. Of how much they have completed so far, and what is left to do. We have so much going on now. Andrew is now NINE months old - can you believe it? I know I can't. He is totally on the move too. He crawls anywhere he can and if he meets an obstacle he either climbs it or pushes it out of the way. We are in big trouble, lol! But in a good way :-). He is the light of my life :-D.
