Lessons from the Fourth Dimension. A Place to Be Inspired. Welcome to all things 5th grade. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Diary of an Animal - Digital Storytelling. I love the "Diary of." series. The process is easy, and not one that I created but simply one I borrowed. And then tweaked to fit us. After this, it is time to unveil the project. Kids usually cheer when I tell them about studying a particular animal, and then I show them the final product. I still have some of my old students' projects. Then it...

Lessons from the Fourth Dimension. A Place to Be Inspired. Welcome to all things 5th grade. Saturday, October 1, 2011. A $10,000 Opportunity. As some of you may know, a couple of weeks ago I was told I was one of 10 finalists in the Great American Teach Off. This contest was created to highlight great elementary educators across the nation and I am frankly astounded to be part of the group. Not only that but the grand prize in the contest is $10,000 for my classroom. 10,000 for us would mean more books i...

With Wings to Fly. Thoughts on education, creativity, arts, learning, and life. The man who has no imagination has no wings". Wednesday, August 3, 2011. So last time I wrote about how I was attending seminars during RSCON3, a global e-conference educational event. All of the sessions I attended over the course of those three days were fantastic, however I want to especially take a moment to talk about two of them that really stood out in my mind. Within a few weeks so keep checking back. Wow, Alicia, I d...

Motherhood, Craftiness and Other Lovely Things. My Honest LipSense Review – Luv It! December 18, 2016. December 18, 2016. It’s not every day you see me post a product review, so that should be a great indicator right off the bat that this post will be completely genuine on my part! So my friend Leah. Asked me if I’d like to try and give my honest feedback on LipSense. Don’t you have a makeup type/product you just enjoy using more than the others? Lips have so many options! But apparently, that’s no...

Mrs. Prisspot | Living an Authentic Life

Living an Authentic Life. The windowbox effect: just a little, attainable something done. The little things add up. For good or bad, little actions, consistently done, become, like a fork in the road, eventually become very divergent paths. So, in our house, we are on this little kick of doing “one small thing” a day. I smiled, enjoying the smell of paint, dirt, sweat, an compost. The boxes were done, the whole thing taking less than than 90 minutes. This entry was posted in tidying. July 12, 2015. Befor...

Mrs. Prissy Pants

Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Day 1: 17 Day Diet. Posted by Mrs. Prissy Pants. Basically the first 17 days of the diet cut out carbs, sugars, and all the foods I enjoy. You are also supposed to drink 8 glasses of water and exercise 17 minutes a day. So I didn't do EVERYTHING I was supposed to do, but I did pretty well. Sage tea, 2 scrambled eggs, and 1 apple. 2 tilapia filets, carrots. Sliced chicken and small salad with fat-free Italian dressing. Total Lost: 2.4 pounds! Saturday, July 7, 2012.
