http://rebeccaminor.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 29, 2008. Throughout the three months that I have lived in Kuwait I've had my fair share of relaxing weekends, some which even involved not stepping outside the apartment. Most weekends come and go with my regular afternoon of tutoring on Saturdays, lesson planning throughout the two days off and the occasional trip to the mall or dinner plans. This weekend was a little different. InshAllah, one week from right now I will be sitting on my couch at home in Bristol catching up on the pas...

http://rebeccaminor.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 27, 2008. During one of our pre-service training sessions at Fawzia Sultan when introducing ourselves we had to answer the question, “Six months from now I hope…” my answer was that I hope to not be so afraid to cross the street. It could be that I have never lived in a city or maybe that traffic laws and common courtesies between drivers doesn’t exist. regardless, traffic here is something else. Normal rush hour traffic back home (I am thinking of Hartford traffic on 84) goes from 5-...

Rebecca Minor: April 2009
http://rebeccaminor.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 1, 2009. April 1st 9/10 year old boys = one long day and lots of fake laughs. Happy April Fools Day. I had actually forgotten about this holiday and didn't think that it was celebrated here in Kuwait. Well, I was wrong. Starting right after the first morning bell, before anyone was able to stuff their bags into lockers, I had my first joke of the day. First of many. way too many. But really, what else can you expect from a classroom of eight 9 and 10 year old boys? A few minutes later.

http://rebeccaminor.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. My students struggle with the words were. Yesterday, while standing in the front of my classroom I wrote both of the words on the board. I then asked my students to point to the word 'where'. When only two out of my eight correctly answered I asked my class to be quiet so we could have some thinking silence. I then had a teacher moment. I turned back to the board and made the h in w h. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Dear, M, Rebecca. How you live on ice and it so big? I like my frends ...

Thursday, August 28, 2008. Our first day of sch...
